we were about to go get our tt from the dealers winter storage where it's been since Jan. when we bought it, this morning we got a recall notice for the solar controller so i guess we wait a little longer to hit the fishing lakes.i'm not retrieving it till it's looked at.

Still planning on camping once a month and still staying local except for Carlisle Chrysler car show. Same plan we had the past couple of years. Nothing has changed.

I don't blame you there. That's a thirsty beast.
That's up on plane (25 MPH). We typically only go about 1 or 2 miles away from our dock and anchor for the day but usually take a cruise 5 or so miles up river and back each time but may have to cut that out this year and just go anchor.

I’m not going cross country, I can tell you that. Sticking to camping local or staying home. Kinda my way to protest. I can drink beer, have a fire, shoot those scary black guns……all at home. :biggun:I won’t be drinking and shooting.

My son has a 2018 Grand Design Imagine 2670MK that he bought to live in while working on the road but it had been sitting for about the last 12 months. He traded in the 2018 2500 6.4 he was towing it with and got a 2021 2500 Cummins. Today him and his wife and their 6 week old son and their dog packed it up and went camping at Geneva On The Lake (Ohio). First time he towed with his new truck. Said his dash readout read 12.5 MPG. We weighed it before with his old truck and it weighed 8100lbs and he averaged about 8 MPG with the 6.4 4.10's.5113DD65-AF38-41A9-A136-A386E793F66A.jpeg

So. 6.29 for diesel in my part of PA. 4.35 for Gas.

We usually go no further than 200 miles.

200 @ 12.5 is 16 Gallon. 16 @ 6.29 is 100.64

200 @ 8 is 25. 25@ 4.35 is 108.75.

Got to add in DEF. Still happy with my choice. If I was towing further or went back to feeling like I had to get somewhere faster...who knows.

But Currently going the back roads and giving myself plenty of time...

And over last year...it does suck to pay more in fuel for sure...but it really has not been that much of a difference on our trips so far. We just enjoy the campground more, and hike or bike more than sightseeing in the RAM.

Campgrounds are still booked solid...so it has not affected people yet.

Not just camping. We have a boat that burns about 10 gallons per hour. It may be sitting at the dock all summer
one of my boats is a pre T deck flatbottom Hondo with a supercharged hemi.it's getting new heads right now but i don't think it will see much water this summer.my deck boat has a 75 gallon tank,it so it costs to fill that tank i'll tell you.

Diesel is 5.99 around here but his company pays for his fuel. He said he would probably be paying for this trip out of pocket since it is his time but for the last 3 years he has not paid for any fuel in his trucks

Of course it's diesel vs gas engine.

My whole family, with multiple trucks and trailers, won't change a thing. Memories to make are more important than worrying about a dinner or two out. Traveling 1,000 miles at 9 mpg with gas $1.50 more than last year is about $170 more for the trip. Forego a dinner out, some Goofy tchotchkes, or other non-necessities and off to the races. And no one in our group is in the "money don't matter" club. We all make choices about where we spend our money, a friend was a pack of cigarettes every two days smoker and gave it up; he puts over $1k a year in the bank as if he still buys them and funds something he wants and this year it is tires. Me, I want to stop buying dirt and stone that just ends up creating work for me in landscaping around the house!
