I know this topic is all over the place but I have not been able to add them together to figure out what is the right move. I want to add the tow mirrors to my 2011 1500. My truck has the power adjust, heated and puddle light. Looking throught the posts I see that i could also possibly add power fold with the new mirrors and it is recommended to use a suport bracket, is this correct? It would be much appreciated if someone could point me to a location where I can get all the information specific to my year truck or even to where I can get all things needed to make this upgrade happen. Thanks

Yes, support brackets and the like. There are quite a few posts on this subject in the 4th Gen section with parts numbers and where to get them.

2 door modules
drivers door master switch

I have a 2011 1500 that came with the sport mirrors. That was one of the first things I changed out as I bought the Ram to tow a trailer I have.

Super easy mod.

Acquired mirrors from a 2015/16 owner wanted Sport ones, so we swapped. Win-win for both.

I then ordered the supporting brace (L& R) from Ram along with the hardware to mount it. Think it was about $100.

Mirrors have worked great ever since. They are power adjustable, puddle lights and heated as well.

I did acquire a new door switch with the folding option. In order to have that function work, I will need to get new door modules for the L & R, but has never been an issue.

as a suggestion, have someone help you ‘hold’ the tow mirror in place while you bolt it in. A bit awkward with the mirror size. Just makes it easier :waytogo:

Thats it. Super easy.

a couple of members mentioned that they did the power folding mirrors,
A few of them mentioned that they liked the Chevy Style mirrors for the Ram trucks

I don't know why none of them are posting part numbers or the parts source

I don't know if Benny, one of this sites official vendors made any notes from when other members were attempting this conversion
