V51 recall

I live in California and in order to get my registration the dmv made me do the v51 recall. It's flashed my ecu and drivetrain control. Once I drove away I noticed a massive power loss on and off the freeway. It's not the same truck. My question is, are there any performance chips I can get to un do what the flash did or improve my truck again . I drive a 2014 ram 5.7 1500. Thank you for any responses. I'm very un happy

Looking at the recall information it does't seem as if any performance related programming issues are involved. Before going to the aftermarket I would revisit the dealer and have them see what is going on.

Yeah it definitely took away my power . And other people I have talked to went to different dealerships and say the same thing happen to them . But the dealer says you might feel a difference. Nothing they can do to reset it back because of california laws. Bunch of b.s . Just seeing if anyone on here has had this happen to them , and if they found a away to get there truck back to the way it used to be. Had this truck for 5 years and it's like it's a new truck now ugh. Thank you for the response

Dealer Service Instructions for: Customer Satisfaction Notification V51 Reprogram Powertrain Control Module

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) on about 310,200 of the above vehicles may require updated software. Some Permanent Fault Codes (PFC) can be stored in the PCM engine controller memory and will be unable to be erased as required under certain conditions, even after the vehicle is repaired. The persistent Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) in the PFC register could be found in PCM memory when a Smog (inspection/maintenance station) Check is performed on the vehicle and the customer may be denied license tag renewal as a result.

There seems to be a warning directed at the tech

Do not allow the charger to time out during the flash process. Set the battery charger timer (if so equipped) to continuous charge.

Yeah whatever the update did took away some power and I was hoping to get it back by buying a tuner or performance chip.

Write a Letter with a full explanation of your concerns
Hopefully everyone that you referred to as having the same outcome will also complain, after complying with the CSN

A customer satisfaction notification: A Customer Satisfaction Notification (CSN) is preventive in nature and involves warranty or customer satisfaction issues that are non-safety related. FCA US LLC will correct the problem, at no charge, even if the vehicle is out of warranty and you are not the original owner.
