Changed the winter 17's to the summer 20's.

Sprayed some tremclad over a few of the rust spots on the frame welds and other easy to reach spots while I had the tires off.

So I searched the forum for a thread like this and didn't find anything. I figured it would be fun to have a thread that everyone can watch what everyone is doing each week.

This week I put on Steelcraft nerf bars, and right now I'm getting the permaplating put on the truck. This way it gets a real good bath.
Gave my truck a wash & wax, took advantage of working nights to work in one of our bays, started at 0230 & the sun was up before I finished.

Took a while, but I got the AFE shorties installed finally. There was a total of 3 broken bolts, 2 passenger, 1 driver. The driver was broken out far enough to be easily removed with vice-grips, the passenger side fought hard and did not want to release those bolts. Welder eventually did the job on both.

Got everything back together today and there is still a little puff puff leak on the passenger collector, I'm going to let it heat cycle a few times over the next week or so then crank on the bolts some more and see if it goes away.

Today I replaced my factory mirrors with aftermarket powered tow mirrors.
I got the mirrors because I do a decent amount of towing around town as well as since I am planning to move before the last week of June and will be towing an enclosed trailer over 1k miles.

I’d like to see a pic. I was thinking about installing some

I replaced all 16 plugs in my 4.7. Found 1 original plug (Exhaust #7) 15 almost new platinum plugs. Exhaust side on #4 was hand tight. Broke it loose without a ratchet, just twisted on the extension.

All looked good. The old plug more discolored. (Exhaust center, intakes outside. 7 and 8 up front). Iridium IX aren't cheap, but happy with the result. Noticeable power difference.

Compression test was higher than i expected. I redid a couple cylinders twice to be sure. Lowest was 164 on #7 166 on #8, highest was #4 at 172. The rest fell in between. Good ratio, very happy with the results.

Thinking that the #7 plug may have been the cause for an intermittent P0420 code. The other problem I found is all 15 newer plugs were intake plugs with the same gap.

Owned for three days. Rewarded with having to buy a new battery. Original battery still installed (2017). Oh well. Moving on...
