Hello I have a 1999 Dodge ram 1500 that dies intermittently when it dies I get a no bus code on the odometer but then after it sits for a minute or two it will start right up sometimes if it dies while I'm driving it will start up by itself well I'm rolling in drive anybody have any ideas of what I could look at thanks in advance for all your help. Also sometimes when it dies and doesn't want to start back up right away if I hook a code reader to it it does not want to communicate with the PCM.

Just to clear, your truck will start itself automatically? As in the starter will turn the engine over? Just want to understand this part.

Unless it is an internal pcm issue, it sounds like a classic bad ground. Might be an easy fix

No , the starter does not engage. Just while rolling in Drive gear the engine will fire back up.
Thanks
