My truck has 52,000 miles on her now. Bought it used 2 Junes ago with 33K on it. I change the engine oil/rotate the tires every 5K.

When are you guys changing out your diffs, T-case and transmission fluids? I read the owners manual and it does not mention anything about my 8 speed ZF trans maintenance schedule. Apparently Mopar feels it's a truck life fluid. I did a quick search and found ZF suggests 75-90 thousand miles. I do the fluid changes myself and have watched the transmission fluid change procedure several times. Looks like a PIA with a Hemi but I'll get it.

On my Jeep I change the oil every 5K. Transmission, T-case and diffs every 50K and radiator flush every 75K. We have 180,000 miles on her now. Bought this one new. No issues to date.

I'm thinking I'm gonna more or less follow the maintenance interval that I do on our Jeep. I just want to get an idea what you guys are doing.

Thoughts?

I change my engine oil every 4k miles. I changed my differential and transfer case fluids at 30k. I was going to change the transmission fluid at the same time, but I'm going to hold off until 50k because it sounds like a major PITA to me. I might just have a shop do that part.

My 2016 eco-diesel has never pulled anything
I only have 61,000+ miles on it
I think that i will change brake fluid & other minor fluids at 70,000. I will have them done at a specialty shop, where the Classic Vehicles & Hot Rodders go.
The power steering is beginning to make noise at full turn.

Why haven't you read your owner's manual?

Is there something I'm missing? I stated I read my owners manual in the original post and it made no mention of when to change the transmission fluid.

Why don't you read the post your commenting on before you make a snarky post/remark?

I follow the recommendations in the service manual for the specific application and useage.
So, when should I change my trans fluid? As per the service manual and my specific application and usage.

Oil around 6k
Trans every 50k
Diffs and tcase every 40k
Brake fluid every 2 years

If I had power steering fluid, I'd do it every 30-40k.

Problem with that is I have an 8 speed transmission. As I said. no mention of a ZF transmission oil change recommendation.
I think you are just some lazy guy who wants people to tell you what to do.

Where in the manual does it say the mtc is only for 6 speed transmission????????????????

Read the manual it references 6 & 8 T where needed.

Automatic Transmission – Eight-Speed Automatic Use only Mopar ZF 8&9 Speed ATF Automatic Transmission Fluid, or equivalent. Failure to use the correct fluid may affect the function or performance of your transmission

Alright, I'll go slow for you. My original question was at what MILEAGE are the fine folks that are members of this outstanding forum changing their automatic 8 speed transmission fluid? I don't believe in lifetime fluids. Does not make sense. The link you posted clearly states the ZF transmission fluid is good for the life of the vehicle. Says the same thing in my owners manual too.

Best thing to do with bad replies is just ignore them.
There's quite a bit of discussion about the 8 spd trans on this forum, here's one thread for example https://www.ramforum.com/threads/trans-oil-change.181462/#post-2557036

The ZF trans fluid is 'lifetime' according to Chrysler but not according to the trans manufacturer.
Good luck it sounds like a pain but plenty of members have done it themselves. I have the 6spd so mine's easy

Stop wasting people's time.

First you say the manual doesn't mention it.

Now you say the manual say it is lifetime.

Now you say you don't want to follow the manual and poster's advise to read your manual.

A waste of the good people's time.

I put the OP on ignore. I'm sure he'll be back with more dumb questions.

It's a legit question and has been discussed many times. Yes, try the search function but that can be overwhelming for new folks. I like helping people when I can, I'm familiar with some of the common questions and can direct people where to start looking. I like this forum because most people are helpful and not rude. I try to be one of the helpful ones.
