Your best option might be to move out of the left lane, over to the right lane and slow down. Gotta love them 3.92's at high speeds, lol. If you're outdoor temp is 108F,you might want to stick a 180 thermostat in it for the summer temps, then swap your original 203 thermostat back in for the cooler months. For all it takes to swap t-stats on the trucks,it's an option to consider, along with slowing down,or replacing your 3.92's with 3.21's. The differance in rpm between 3.21's and 3.92's at 90 mph would be like slowing down to 74 mph. The same rpm you turn at 90 mph with 3.92's would put you at 110 mph with 3.21's
lol there is no way in hell that i would even consider going 3:21 from 3:92.if i had a choice id go 4:10s :) i have a 180 thermostat year round its not enough i think my best bet is to just relocate the oil filter add a oil cooler im doing a single oil filter kit and oil cooler think its more effective and i dont loose to much pressure.. thanks for the tips bro

Here you go. Parts list of what I would get. This doesn’t include the -10 an hose or fittings. And I’ve listed a medium and a large oil cooler depending on your wants/needs. I would lean towards the large

just placed my order for this kit looks high quality.. thanks for the link bro.
I hope that works out for you.I didn't notice all that much of a temp drop till i switched to a dual filter set-up. With dual filters the oil flow through each filter gives the oil more time to cool off in each filter

Technically should be better filtration as well since it’ll take twice as much to open the internal bypass

Maybe remove the 2 pusher fans. They may be more of a restriction than help. I have the v6 fan and have never seen temps that high. My trans reached 196 as the highest I ever saw after a 3 hour trip on the interstate doing 80mph. 3.92 gears lifted and 35s. I would swap to a 190° tstat as it’s the best of both worlds in my opinion. Cooler than stock. But not so much cooler that the heater feels cooler in the winter (but I’m in Florida. Lol). My rpm’s are right around 2,000 rpm at 75 if I remember correctly

Maybe I’m the odd one but I’ve never had issues with the heat. Maybe it’s my 35s? since my final drive ratio is around 3.55-3.73 with my setup compared to stock. Even stock I think my highest oil temp noted was 230° with the AGS and stock tstat in the middle of summer with mid to upper 90s
the pusher fans are just there to make my AC colder.. they are not a restriction cos my coolant and trans temps are at the perfect 180 ~ 205 year round ... i removed the clutch fan about two years ago and only have the stock electric fan dont feel i need the V6 fan the stock fan dose a good job cooling..

yah but im adding a cooler inline thats more surface area more cooling than just 2 filters, maybe two oil filters and a oil cooler is to much on oil pressure .. i already have an old 4 row setrab oil cooler that i installed and removed from a car i used to have its a very good cooler so gona use that see how it works out. thanks for the info bro. :)

Keep us updated on how it works out for you bro ;). I am curious on how you're planning to run an inline oil cooler with the pacbrake set-up bro,are you plumbing it in before or after the filter;)

I would look into insulating the ac lines and swap to the v6 fan. The v6 fan is an upgrade over the stock ac fan by quite a bit since it’s shrouded and will help cool the ac better as well. Insulating the ac lines will help the ac run more efficiently and my vent temps dropped about 2 or 3 degrees after insulating the ac lines.

very nice i haven't insulated the line yet will take alook at it tonight altho my ac is a fridge freezer rite now waaaaaay colder than stock which was very cold to begin with. i also blocked of the heater hose going into the cabin for an even colder ac.. installed a shut off valve on that hose in your pic going to the heater core. easy 10 minute mod

oh yeh i do have the stock shroud on i just removed the clutch fan kept everything else. its working great so far..

Today I took 400 pounds about 40 miles. Ambient temp 82F. 545RFE, 4.10 final gears.

Miles 10-25, I drove 80 mph. Engine oil temp 212.

Miles 25-35, I drove 85-90 mph. Engine oil 213. Trans temp 141.

Miles 35-40, I drove 55ish. Engine oil temp 212

Coolant temp was consistently 199-204.

Unless your oil temp reaches 212F, you run a real risk of moisture contamination and sludge. Oil filter relocation adds about 1 qt of oil (due larger filter) and does not impact pressure.

Water does steam below 212°. That’s just boiling point. Is it better to get oil hotter? To a point. But that’s also dependent on drive time and such. I send oil samples. My oil is generally around 196-203° And the samples come back with no moisture content. Why? Because it doesn’t have to reach 212 to remove the water.

Do you have the active grill shutters? I’ve never seen oil temps above 225 even when I was bone stock. I’m lifted and 35s with a 190 tstat and even hauling stuff and running 75-80 on the highway my temps won’t go above 208°. Normal driving my oil temp is 196-203° depending on outside temp
I've towed my tractor & trailer (<>7000 lb.) for 250 miles on I-390 in the dead of summer with plenty of hills and I never had the oil temp go over 225.

What do you think of this idea about cooling oil?
On most 2017 Ram 1500s 5.7L and newer, a factory heat exchanger is standard equipment.
Hot coolant water coming out of the engine cooling jacket is piped down to the oil filter base where it goes into a heat exchanger. It’s suppose to heat the oil for quicker warm ups. But also can have a cooling effect on the oil if the coolant water is cooler than the oil.
Has any one ever took the hot coolant and piped it forward in front of the radiator and cooled it first, and then returned it to the factory heat exchanger?
Or has anyone ever taken coolant from the radiator after the radiator cooled it and piped back the heat exchanger? Just to note, a typical automatic transmission cooler is the same 3/8 OD as the line going to the Ram heat exchanger. You could use the transmission cooler to cool the hot water.
I have been thinking about that for sometime. Why cool hot oil with hot water coming from a cylinder head?
If any one has done this, please let me know how it works.
