Hello All:

Truck is one week old, got in and the 12" screen was blank. I tried restarting, resetting, pressing the screen off button, etc. nothing worked. Later that day, the screen started working again. Any ideas what the issue is?

I prefer that FOTA downloads to the hard drive while the vehicle is not in use.
Then when you start the vehicle up, you get a notice to either unzip the file or not & if you choose to hold off the unzipping of the file, it just stays in a ZIP file until a later date for retrieval.

That way if it turns out to be a corrupt file, we would never unzip it

Thanks for the post, it looks like my issue is tied to the apple wireless carplay. I'll disable that for now. As an aside, cooling and everything else can still be controlled with the voice commands.

OK, that's perfect. I need to find where I can accept / reject the updates... I'm with you, I like to wait and see if there are corruption reports etc.

I didn't realize I could use the voice commands, thanks!

Agreed, I don't update any OS or Firmware until there are at least two bug fixes also released after it.

I just picked up a lightly used RAM 1500 Rebel with 300 miles on it. On the test drive and first day, I had no issues with the screen. Then yesterday it just went completely dark, as described in this thread. I did have my iPhone wirelessly connected and was using AirPlay, so maybe that had something to do with it. Once the screen finally came back on (after about 2 hours), I deleted the phone from Device Manager and performed a factor reset (I held the volume and tune buttons for 15-20 seconds).

I will only connect the phone with a USB cable from now on. I hope this solves the problem.

Question about software updates. Do they happen automatically? On the Apps > Software Update screen, I see where I can select my WiFi network, but that's all I'm able to do there. I don't see an option for automatically downloading the updates (or turning that off). Nor do I see anything that tells me the current software version. I must be missing something?

I found a fix for when the screen goes dark while connected to ApplePlay.
1). Put phone in Airplane Mode. Wait 30 seconds
2). Turn Infotainment system back on with the power button.
3). Take iphone out of airplane mode.

This process has worked for me and the system was stable afterward.

This issue has gone from bad to worse. Today I had a combination of the following:
- Completely blank screen
- Screen was on, but didn't respond to any input (when I tapped anywhere on the screen, nothing happened)
- Screen was on, but my iPhone would not connect when plugged in via USB. It showed up in Device Manager, but the connection icon just kept spinning, and it would never connect.

I tried the reset procedure described elsewhere on the forums (hold the phone/voice control buttons down simultaneously for 30 seconds, release, turn off vehicle, open driver's door, turn back on) but that didn't do anything.

It's at the point where I can't control the climate or any of the functions of the vehicle. I've had this truck for 3 days and it has been a nightmare so far.

I entered my VIN in the uConnect "check for update" site, and it said my software is up to date.

Is this something the dealer can even fix? Judging from the fact that there are at least five other posts in the "Similar threads" section appearing underneath this text box as I write, and the little bit of research I've done, it's obvious that this is not an uncommon issue. I'm worried that even bringing it to the dealer won't help.

If that's the case... what then?
