Bought this programmer for my 2018 Ram 1500. Had an SC for my 05 and just the canned tune on 87 octane setting was very noticeable. This one I had to wait 2 months for a PCM and when I programmed the 87 octane setting in, I really feel no difference from stock. The programmer reflected the program was installed. Now I'm not looking for as race truck, I was just looking for at least the result I got from the canned tune in the past. Is this normal? Should I still be feeling at least firmer shifts like in the past? Or something? Not interested in other tuners folks. Just asking if anyone had the same experience with this one. Thanks in advance

Update: This 3836-S is a complete waste of money and time. The canned tunes are not even close what they used to be. The only gain you feel is in 93 tune at wide open. I don't know about you but 98% of my driving is not WFO. I bought this to maybe improve my towing experience. Not only does it not do an effin thing, my gas mileage is 3mpg worse than stock on the same trips I take towing. Complete waste of money.

Dont give him too hard of a time, there are so many shady companies out there selling, "tuners" for every car our there. One of my buddies at work just got a piggy back tuner for his brand new 6G Bronco and he thinks it actually gained 60hp... Poor sob...

I just took the tune out of my 2011 for NJ inspection. I have the flashpak 3842 and run the 87 performance tune. The 87 with 93 octane runs better than the 93 tune, which I got a slight ping on light throttle. Soon as I took it out really noticed a lack of response and loss of power. It has k and n filter and flowmaster hd 50 muffler. Canned tune worked real well for me. Truck runs [email protected] mph with a 2.01 sixty foot time. Regular cab, 17's and 392 gears. Truck has 120,000 miles and had tune in since almost new. Had Cortex on my other Ram and also worked great. Might be the newer trucks have that torque management system. Also I take battery cable off to reset computer. Going to inspection this week and as soon as I get home, tune goes back in. Good luck with your tuner and truck.

I had a SC on my 05 and it was completely different. Was giving it another go. Seems it only advances spark a couple ticks. My stock tune is better than anything in this programmer.

Make no mistake boys. I'm not looking for a drag racer. If I wanted that. I'd buy a sports car. Just looking for more drivability. Unfortunately SC doesn't even firm up shifting anymore. I'll be sticking with stock for the Ram now.
