HI all, I have discovered a leak of an oily substance on the driver side near the front of the door. it is dripping down from the body to frame bolt.. the whole area is wet. I don't know of anything above it but a wiring harness and the cab floor. I have looked above it on the firewall and see nothing leaking.. any ideas?

Brake fluid maybe ? Perhaps check level, could be very slight leak, but oil will spread from just a tiny amount.

Hi
its not motor oil as it is to clear.. I thought about brake fluid but seems to thick and dark. I looked all around the master Cyl and everything is dry as a bone.. it’s odd that it’s is dripping from where it is.. the body bolt is only a few in from the side of the body and back under the driver floorboard…. The fluid is brownish and thicker than oil, tranny fluid, or brake fluid.. it really has me stumped

Probably a motor mount. I believe they leak a brownish fluid when they start leaking.

Are the body mounts covered on the Mopar extended warranty?

mark

Only they can answer that. It may be considered a "wear item" like brake pads but I really don't know. This is where a good relationship with your dealer may help. For me, I have no relationship and do all my own work so me personally would just buy the mount and be done with it. If that is what is leaking.

I checked the parts diagram and the cushions look like regular rubber mounts and can find no posting anywhere that describes them as having a fluid in them…. Just weird!

I believe they are. If you look at the paperwork, they will list none covered parts. Don’t recall seeing bodymounts listed.

If the leaking is coming from body mount but you do not have the liquid filled ones, some people doing body lifts claimed the body panel holds water and when they removed the stock mount it leaked out on the floor. Could just be trapped rusty rain water that dripped out.

Do both mounts, 'cause you know what will happen if you don't!

Lift the hood.. Check just under the hood at the driver side hinge where the washer makes a rubber connection between hard lines for the washer hood jets..

Hi all, sorry for the delay but I just had cancer surgery a couple days ago and I am am a bit slow right now…. Took the truck in to the dealership and they say the power brake booster is leaking.. I swear I looked all over that firewall and didn’t see a thing.. anyw, that’s the good news. The bad is I am told the part is on a ’super backorder” and that I can drive the truck short distances and can pick it up.

now I know as soon as I do the brakes will fail and I will hit someone with the knowledge my brakes were leaking.. (insert attorney in my butt here). I called Ram Care to see if they can help. A case worker called me and said she would get back to me Monday…. Anyone else having backorder issues with parts?

I have to ask, do you have any Mopar Extended Warranty ?

If you do not, check the RockAuto website
They may be able to get the OEM power brake booster through their suppliers & at a much more friendly price

Power brake boosters have no fluid in them, it is no doubt coming from the rear of master cyl...plunger seals. You will never have a complete brake failure, after hydraulics have been by-passed, it becomes mechanical internally in the master but it feels like a loss. The pedal will go almost to the floor with the feeling of a failure. If it is warranty, that is great...if not, you could fix yourself or much cheaper at other garages.

Wrong answer. When the hydraulcs fail you have NO BRAKES PERIOD. there's no mechanical that exists short of the parking brake unless you're referring to OP's front bumper hitting the vehicle in front of them ( or worse someone standing there). If you keep driving waiting on the part check the brake fluid & keep it full.
