I have a 22 ram express 4th gen regular cab and I want to go with painted door handles and painted mirrors. I found a vin number on an 18 sport that has the painted mirrors and handles. The price on the mirrors were almost $1000. Those mirrors on the 18 have the puddle lamps. Will they work on my truck if they did not come equipped with them? I may just paint my existing or buy the stick on covers in gloss black and paint the covers blue before I stick them on. Has anyone successfully painted their mirrors? What is the process? I would think sanding first and a bonding filler primer would be step one and two.
As far as the door handles they were only $170 for the set. Of course the parts manager said there are two production dates meaning two types of handles were made for that 18. He did not know what the differences were. Nothing is ever simple. Last option would be to try EBay or Facebook Market place for used take offs. So far coming up dry with that search. I did find gloss black mirrors and door handles. That would look really good too with the hydro blue and black out package. Any thoughts or leads would be greatly appreciated.

As has been discovered, most of the time the harness between any level of most vehicles is the same. IE a tradesman/express and a Limited will have the same harness.

You will likely need to program the truck, either the dealer/local tuner, or figure out AlfaOBD to get the puddles working.

My '18 Rebel didn't come with the engine light (as an example), but I got the hardware for ~$50 (wires/housing/crappy incandescent) from Amazon. Installed in about 5 minutes (I got confused on a part that needed to be bent/clipped, but wasn't from factory, and it was bent/clipped in every pic I saw).

Another example would be BoostedMotorsports, who has done a LOT of this kind of stuff (basically converting a lower end ram into a higher end model). The physical is usually harder.

I'm struggling to confirm if my OBD dongle (ELM327 from marketplace) is working on my '18 or not. (It isn't, but is that because I don't know what I'm doing, I need the bypass cable, or is the dongle wrong.)
