You don’t want to go over 3” of suspension lift or you’ll run into issues of not enough down travel which will make the ride a bit rougher off-road or over bumps. 2.5” is really the perfect spot but the rough country spacer was a nice touch to technically lengthen the down travel without pushing the cv to the max.
My one thing with the top plate spacers is that since these Icons actually have some movement at the top of the shock from where the eyelet of the coilover goes into the mount top mount plate, the RC small hole spacers touch the top of the shock a tiny bit so I may end up switching the top plate from the RC ones which are small hole to another brand which have a wider hole. I dont think that the contact will damage anything, to me it just looks like a potential source of noise down the road

Here is where I’m talking about the small diameter of the RC spacer contacting the shock

@healthyrx How much lift did you maintain with them at 2.5 and the .5" spacer? Also did you have room to go up more on the adjustments?

The truck is looking fantastic!

I'm looking to make the upgrade to Icons in the front soon, and want maximum lift while achieving a good ride in the dirt.
Ill try to get some more measurements tonight when I get home now that I've got a few hundred miles for the suspension to settle. And Ill try to get a pic of the CV too for you. Any specific measurements you want? Hub to fender vs ground to fender?

The RC spacer and the factory hole are the same size so I am surprised it’s touching. And the extended length is the same so you won’t have any extra down travel for the cv.

Yeah hub to fender + ground to fender would be great!

Just now mine measured out from ground to fender at 40.5" - This is with no front bumper on at all. For reference I'm running Bilstein 5100's at 2.8 with a zone 1.5" BL running 315/70R17's

If yours was at 42.5 That's a 2" difference with a similar setup. That's crazy!

I'm still waiting to hear from Icon what the spring rate is on their CO's I believe @hodge-xj said it was 600lbs. Which would help explain that lift difference.

Just found this image by searching the part number on my icon CO spring
I would guess they dont use the same part number for 2 different applications. But ive been surprised by less
I interpret this as 13" free length, 3" diameter, 650# spring rate

So with the settling and double checking my measurements and a 3/4 full tank of gas
Front driver ground to fender is 41.75”
Front driver hub to fender is 25”
Front driver top of tire to fender is just under 8.5”
Roof to the top of the shark fin antenna is 82.5”

How is the ride now? have you had a chance to test it on any dirt?

Is your body lift a 1.5”? My hub to fender is 23.5” in the front with the bilstein 5100 and eibach springs plus the spacer. So 3” front lift.
Edit: just went back and read again. Yes you have a 1.5” body lift so you’re on par at 3” lift from the coil-overs and spacer.

So finally got ahold of someone at Icon who knew the spring rate for the Ram CO's, and yes they are in fact 650lb/in.

I believe that I have unfortunately had the hemi tick for about 3k miles now.. don’t think it was the exhaust manifolds since both heat shields are still tight when the engine is cold. So that left it to being the lifters.
First thing I tried was a bottle of lubegard in my oil which was the penzoil platinum (not PUP) and after having that in for about 1.5k miles the tick was still there at start up but it would go away once warm and it didn’t seem to worsen.

So 2weeks ago I ended up doing an oil change with redline and a royal purple filter. Finally about 500 miles after the oil change it seems that the tick on cold starts is gone and hasn’t come back. Hopefully that takes care of my tick for a while now and I’ll just stay with redline oil at 5-7.5k intervals

What weight did you go with? I've aways attributed startup clatter with bad anti drain back valves on the oil filter. Every mopar I've had has done it.

Went with 5w30 for the oil.
I was worried it might be the tick because the truck didn’t do it when I bought it so it was something that started relatively recently

Finally installed my suspension maxx sway bar links and mopar trailer brake controller.
Ordered a rubber bed mat and some access pocket storage thingies to make a "stuff holder" in the area between the wheel well and tail gate.

Lots of chores left to do in the coming weeks not all truck related.
Gotta get a 3/4" air impact wrench to take off the 42 mm nut that holds the hydraulic piston on my bush hog.
Gotta get my brothers grom cleaned up and posted for sale
Gotta get listings made for my eibach front struts and zone UCAs

No big changes to the truck lately

I think that the redline oil did it’s job as I don’t think I can hear the tick anymore so hopefully crisis averted for now

I’m thinking I want to do something with the current steps. Can’t decide if I want to ditch them all together or add some wheel to wheel steps. Not interested in spending the money on amp steps right now so those aren’t in the picture yet - I’d rather put that money towards a bumper.

Eibach and bilstein should be the same. I’m actually wondering if bilstein makes eibachs shocks. Bilstein uses eibach springs on the 6112
5100's are standard travel, same with 6112's. Eibachs are extended travel.
@hodge-xj did measure the 6112's in his build thread. We also did some tests with the wheels in air at droop. To our surprise 6112's were standard travel
6112's measure 21.5" and that's the same as 5100's

Eibach does their own shocks and RD like Bilstein both are based in Germany but they do make a lot of springs as well for other manufacturers. For instance Eibach does the coils for Fox for example.

Photos of the Access G2 pockets I installed a little while ago
Also picked up a grabber bar to go with them- it doubles as a cargo holder and it’s enough to reach to the end of my 6’4 bed.

Replaced my cabin filter today and grabbed some charcoal deodorizer bags on Amazon as well

Got some small goodies on the way
- 3rd brake light seal
- replacement rear cab exhauster vents (I think that they are rotting and allowing bugs into the truck overnight)
- ecodiesel lower air box and air tube

Started looking into dash cams, currently like the blackvue DR750x 2ch Plus

Does anybody have any input on what I can do to the exhaust to make it always sound like it does on a cold start? Meaning a little bit throatier but not overpoweringly loud. Can I just delete the muffler and/or resonators?

It’s not much but today was Wanda’s first time ever having a trailer attached. She didn’t come with a trailer hitch so I know the previous owner didn’t tow.
This 6x12 U-Haul trailer felt surprisingly heavy behind the truck though… it reminded me of when I was pulling an 8x25 big Tex deck over trailer with my old ford 6.0… sure am glad I didn’t buy this truck to pull a trailer every day. Handled fine and all but it was strange how much I actually noticed the trailer behind the truck
