So I have a 16 limited with all that ambient lighting in the doors and so forth. The one I hate is the light above the cup holders. To me it is such a distraction. I know it isn't that bright, but I hate it. My question is besides the obvious black electric tape over it in two seconds, has anyone ever made or used a hack/mod? Like a swing door/cover? Maybe a large pencil eraser or plug of something that can be removed when I want the light.
Thanks in advance. I know I can't be the only one who feels this way.

Take the console down and unplug it?
That might be an option, but it think ill just go with electric tape over it. I dont know where having lighting up front is a good thing at night while driving

Just a suggestion, why not try a small scrap piece of window tint over it. That might be just enough to to keep it from being a distraction and keeping it usable.

I've thought about wiring in a switch into the overhead ambient light, but have settled for simply unplugging it.

I find it distracting as well.
