Just did a fluid and filter change on my 2012 1500 5.7 65RFE TRANS. 9 Qt. came out or so I thought. Upon starting added 6 qt. thinking I may have mis counted what came out. Trans wouldnt warm up past 96* so attempted a test drive to warm up and get a solid level to check but was stuck in 4th. Took 3 Qts to get a reading between hot and cold hash marks on dipstick then shifted and drove fine. Came back, let cool and now reads overfilled. Any thoughts
Thanks Fellas

Did that, but not sure being that I cant get the Temp past 115-120. Oil and coolant temps are good at 170-180. No idea what the running temp was reading before the service so nothing to compare it to. At idle it wont go past 100.

I would think after a nice 15 mile dive at hwy speed or up a mountain road ( Bend does have a few) it would be hot enough to get a good read on the dip stick...

Same problem. I had to put in trailer tow and drive for about 30 minutes in stop and go traffic before it would even get close.

Appreciate the feedback. I Came upon some info saying the 65RFE is known to run cool (100-130) which aliviates my concern of a faulty temp. sens. Its funny cause the dipstick has it stenciled saying check at 180*. im thinking its a hold over from another model that tends to run a bit hotter.
If it naturally wants to run at 115-120 during summer it doesnt feel right trying to stress it to raise another 60* just to be able to get a proper reading.
