Intermittently my cruise control button will take between 50 and 200 presses to get it to engage. Other times it works from the first press. At first, I thought it was cold/warm weather but it intermittently doesn't work in all conditions. I took it in twice and "of course" it worked perfectly, at $165 a pop for no resolution. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Funny I see this come up as it's same with mine and it's not 1 year old yet. It works about 70 to 80% of the time right now. Next time I'm at the dealer I'll bring it up.

You can try spraying some keyboard cleaner between the keys.
Spray & rapidly press those keys

I forget whether that pad can be lifted out & cleaned with Q tips or something

Grab a beverage of your choice & some popcorn :)

& this one is what many Ram owners are doing
slap the back or front of the steering wheel :insane:

I'll have to try the "SLAP" technique then! :D Thanks @GTyankee!

But I'm not game to remove the whole thing, it's under warranty for me so I'll let them deal with this.

Seriously, this works...

:D Reminds me of when I was a kid, and when the TV started to lose vertical control, one of us would run up and slap the top of the TV to "fix" it. It's not really a fix, but at least you'll be able to use if for a while.

Exactly... It's better than not working. A band-aid of sorts.

I have a 2017 1500 Lonestar and my cruise control didn't work earlier today. All the other steering wheel controls worked fine. After I used the manual gear select, the cruise control started working again.

As mentioned above, slapping or hitting above the steering wheel on flat surface above steering wheel buttons fixes the issue. If not, you didn't hit it hard enough. I just learned this the past weekend as I was looking for a solution for a 600 mile drive between Utah and CA. It stopped working on the way there. Fixed the issue on return trip when it stopped working about 2 hours into the drive. I was a skeptic but a believer now!

Well, to my surprise, this worked! I haven't had the issue since I slapped the top with a firm assertive slap! :D

I have the same problem, plus one additional problem. At the same time the cruise control won't work, my Homelink (Garage door opener) stops working too. I'm going to try to find which control module in the truck is used by both systems. Weird problem. Never had any problems like this with my 2013.
