Rear ended a couple weeks ago at stop light.
The other driver had no drivers license, and my insurance said he had no insurance.
Looks like the F250 had several hits before he nailed me.

The hit took out my bumper, tailgate, hitch, rear camera lens.

As the title says I was hit twice in two days. Both rear end hits. Yesterday I was in a parking lot making a right turn and I stopped mid turn because someone else was pulling out. I guess the girl wasn't paying attention and she hit me. It was her mom's car she got the worst of it. I ended up with a dent and some paint damage.

Then today waiting to make a left I was hit again. This time the step took most of the damage. It did its job. Another dent and more paint damage. After the second claim Geico called me within an hour. My insurance won't go up because neither was my fault.

AS long as I can get on I will ride, LOL.

Years of riding on the dirt...many crashes and spills. I wouldn't trust myself on the road kinda like a kid in candy store lol.

Things learned from this thread:

1) Dashcams are a great investment.
2) Hitch steps and ball mounts can save your bumper.
3) Driving with a phone in your hand is bad.
4) Watch out for those Tennessee drivers!
5) We all have great stories about stupid things that happen.

This is why I drive with my hitch in. Saved me a few times. To bad off-roading still destroys my bumpers... *****
Lol.
Exactly.
I had a Dakota years ago and as all my trucks, I leave the hitch in place.
I was stopped at a light about 4 cars back from the light. Light turned green and instantly the guy behind me (5th car back) hits the gas and bam! right into the back of me. I hadn't even taken my foot off the brake pedal yet, so why he is hitting the gas is beyond me.
So end result was my hitch went right through his grill and radiator on his nice and shiny Jaguar. I had damage but drove away. He limped into the McD's parking lot steaming and had to wait for a tow truck. LMAO!

Moved to Flatistan in 2017, 4 accidents in one year.
1. Wife driving her 99 Miata 10th Anniversary hit from behind forcing her into a truck in front of her. Car totalled.
2. My F350 hit in parking lot, damaging rear wheel plastic. Stop drilled the crack and lived with it. Hit and run
3. F350 hit in rear, where I had mounted a 4x6 to the hitch. Parking lot again. Found some plastic bits, hit and run.
4. Sitting at red light, F350 hit in aforementioned 4x6. Felt it, heard the crunch and "****** ****** ******". Got out and the Hondamazdatoyonissan whatever sped off, with the occupants yelling " arriba arriba, andelay, andelay".
Sold the F350.
What/where is Flatistan?

A load of work is done on Major Roads during the night
We would set up our Signs, Traffic Cones, High Powered Lights & we felt fairly safe out there until about 1 AM - 3 AM, when the drunks were going home.

Now no one is safe after dark, at least working on Major Highways, what with MJ being legal & some people chain smoke that stuff, like one of my neighbors smokes a joint, then smokes a roll your own tobacco, then has another joint.
He does not drive too much after dark, but like many pot smokers, if he trips on the curb, he starts laughing.

There are people driving & bumping into things & laughing & driving more

I had a windshield chip repaired last fall and said I don't like to replace a windshield until I really have to.
They said they had just replaced one guys windshield, and on the way home he picked up another rock, and they had to replace that one also.

I finally got the estimate. $1065 to replace the bumper. I'll be going to the body shop tomorrow to schedule the repair. Hopefully they won't find anything else that will hold up the repair.

No one was whining, and saying he has poor driving skills because someone else rear ended his vehicle is rather stupid.

That is exactly the reason I keep my WD hitch on the truck 24/7/365. For one thing, it is a deterrent for those who are watching what they are doing when driving, and for another, for the ones driving with their heads up their *****, it will maybe be a learning experience if they decide to try to nose-breed their whatever with my truck.
