2013 1500 5.7, got 15 spark plugs changed without a problem. …..2nd one back from firewall on the passenger side wont come out. It turned maybe 3/4 turn and got tight, i sprayed some pb blaster down the plug hole and gonna let it sit overnight. Maybe let the engine get hot and try ? Any ideas on what i can try next ?

A little heat, after soaking with PB, should do the trick.

The "back and forth" method will help keep you from snapping that sucker off and leaving part of it in the head.

Ok took for a short drive to heat it up and as it was cooling I took an air hose and blew it out good and I started working it left and right and it came right out. Thanks everyone

Heating the engine is going to make it more difficult to remove the plug. Often a light tap with a hammer can break up the material that is causing the resistance at the threads. I would use a chisel or other tool to hit the sides of the plug while avoiding the ceramic center.

If you can get to it with an impact set on very light setting the tapping will help walk it out.

Use the back and forth and low impact to walk it out..... cordless drill may give enough tap to walk it loose.

Be careful, do not go full bore with impact gun as you could damage the threads on the head.

This is why I put a small dab of anti seize on the thread of new plugs. It's usually not an issue since these parts get hot and are sealed pretty well, but would hate to have a stuck plug when I need to change them.

I don't know why exactly, but over the years I've had numerous people tell me that putting anti-seize on spark plug threads is a no-no. I've watched a few Youtube repair videos made by professionals that proclaim the same. Then again, all the Ford people I know do it all the time.

About the anti seize on a spark plug I was told do not do the first/second thread , and just do a tiny bit
That saves the issue of too much anti seize hitting the electrode !

A tiny bit of anti seize goes a long way. No need to "dope it" like plumbing sealant.

Here is spark plug anti seize information: http://www.jagrepair.com/images/AutoRepairPhotos/NGK_TB-0630111antisieze.pdf

Ram does not recommend anti seize compound on the spark plug threads on modern engines.
Do you think maybe they exaggerated that just a wee bit, lol. If you're that much of a bohunk to over torque a plug till it breaks or pulls threads, you probably shouldn't be changing spark plugs. Cast iron heads you can get away with no anti-seaze,but on aluminium heads i'd use a little smear on the plug threads. The advantages to using anti-seaze on plugs in aluminium heads, out weigh the disadvantages in my opinion.Just don't get carried away with it.

I thought I read back in the day it (too much anti-seize) could screw up an O2 sensor if too much was applied and was burning off. Most searches I read (Google) had to do with overtorquing. So if you apply some, just put a little on just the threads and don't torque too much. I always add a very small amount and have been doing so for like 30 years. Never knocked out an 02 sensor or had a single problem. But that's just my experience.

Have used just a small amount on every car I've owned through the years and never had an issue. Never lathered on, but had to remove a seized plug in a `64 Impala once and went the worst route through that experience. Is a terrible upsetting feeling not to mention the time and cost. I hear/see the link and know that this is a topic in many forums, but until I see a better solution to what I've paid through before....a little dab will do you is what I say.

99% of the time if there’s a chance of the nut/bolt getting removed again I’ll apply a tiny dab of it. Have never had any issues.

Put some Bosch plugs in my pops f150 it said on the box not to use antiseeze.they didn't look to be pretreated.i did however put antiseeze on the Motorcraft plugs before.truck has 300,000 miles on a 3.5 ecoboost.so I don't know.unless an engine is known to shoot plugs out, some 5.4 ford's are I can't see what it would hurt to use antiseeze on plugs.
