The CP3 is inherently quieter than the all aluminum bodied CP4, too.
Looks like a variant of the ISB21S3 as it's actually labeled ISB19S3

Sweet, that didn't take them long. I'm assuming they didn't find any contaminants?
Nothing at all in the system. I will say this, it runs smoother at least in my case. Wife noticed how much smoother it is before i said anything about it. This truck has always been a fuel hog since I've had it, seriously I could drive 20 miles down the freeway and the fuel gauge will have had visibly moved a 1/16th of a tank at least. Did the same run I do every week yesterday and amazingly the gauge barely move off the mark from when i started. It's quieter on startup also, the CP4 was noisy.

Mine is complete as of this past week....I really haven't noticed any difference in the way the truck sounds or fuel mileage.....

Dropped my truck off on Tuesday and it was complete end of day on Thursday.....process was pretty quick...especially since they didn't order the pump until I dropped it off Tuesday morning...

Pretty good turn around in my opinion. Congrats

well I've got to say I'm excited and grateful to anything at all that @RamCares Did to help escalate my case. My dealership just called and said my truck has been moved up and my parts kit has arrived. We scheduled for the first available appointment which is on the 20th. She said plan on it being here for any entire day, which I told her I'm planning on it taking 2 days but I would absolutely have to have a free loaner as it's my only vehicle. They were extremlly nice and said that would not be an issue and they would reserve one for me.
It will be such a relief to eventually put the whole fuel pump worry behind us as we believe its the weakest and unsafest link In our vehicle which is a huge part of of our lives with us being full timers.

I have seen several accounts now of 2019 owners with running trucks that have have had the Y78 recall performed, despite Ram and @RamCares saying "no-go" until possibly September, and yes I have seen the bulletin. I have no reason to believe these folks are not being truthful, so something doesn't jive here.

No....new filters......I have a case of them at home and did them when I got home....they asked if I wanted them but I would have to pay for it.....and they wanted way more than I wanted to pay for something I could do in 30 minutes at home...my truck had 22k miles when the update was done....so it's still a baby...

That's hilarious, I'm at 22,220 miles, haaaaaa. Let me guess, they wanted about $300 for both filters, that's a major rip for sure

FYI, I read this morning that the CP4 recall is expanding to 2014-2020 EcoDiesels, as well.

Well that was majorly anticlimatic. The big day finally got here, i delivered my truck to the dealership right at 7am so i was the first order of buisness in line and get my free loaner. I told the rep that ill see yah in a couple days and she said well the fact that you were able to drive it in here is promising that it might only be a pump job and be done today and i replied well call me if something comes up. I loaded up on free cookies, donuts, and coffee and made it home before the wife got up and supprised her with a fresh donut. I told my wife if all goes well ill be going back tomorrow morning to pick her up and have another free breakfast.
Exactly 4 hours later after dropping it off the nice rep lady called and said Mr so an so and I said what's wrong tell me the bad news, she said nothing's wrong ,your all done, come and pick it up. I was like, the fuel pump on the 20 billet ram 3500, yup come on back.
Went and got my baby back and she's got a brand new fuel pump and finally got that dag gum cp4 out of her. I checked for any damage, nope, just fluid all over the transfer case and sway bar. Initial impression is it does sound more quite to both of us. I requested to talk to the technician and he said he didn't see even 1 flake of glitter so no need to do anything but the std job
So good news is:
Cp4 removal and replacement done
got free breakfast
soft footed the loaner too not cost me any fuel
the weakest link and stress are finally over with
dealership was great
Didn't need to replace all other fuel related items
so bad news is:
I dont get another free breakfast tomorrow morning
I don't get free fuel filters

the wife and i are happy to be done and over with all the stress of wondering if it would hold up or not every time we pulled our 27k home on wheels. Anything can always come up and happen but to be done with this recall is so awesome.

Yep - @turkeybird56 mentioned in the senior forum. What a boondoggle. Wonder how much Bosch lost on their "new & improved" (read: over cost-reduced for more profit) fuel pump?

Yes, not being privy to how these type of warranty/recall costs are distributed, I do wonder. I know Cummins sells the B engines to Mopar and does not warranty the engines in the way they would in a heavy-truck arrangement. So on the HD trucks how is that being shared among Ram, Cummins, and Bosch? In the case of the YuckoDiesel, VM is "part of the family", so to speak, and, again, good ol' Bosch.

Given the long, dark, sordid, disastrous history of the CP4 prior to Mopar having anything to do with it, I can only hope that whoever was involved in the 100% bean counter decision to gamble on that piece of shyt gets fired. Only an effing moron would have touched something so radioactive. But knowing how corporations work, they either got promoted, or floated away on their golden parachute.

What's sorta baffling about the EcoDiesel CP4.2 recall is there have been very few failures in that platform. The failure rate is under 1%. It's only the Gen2 EcoDiesel that have the recall but the Gen3 motors use the same pump. Strange?

all I know is , my dealer got the main pump kit for $3500 and then charged cdjr $1300 dollars for a quick 4 hours of recall labor. Them folks must of new what they were doing to do that job in 4 hrs.

Different injectors? Pressure regulation?
