Different injectors? Pressure regulation?
The top end pressure for the application is 30K for either engine, although the Cummins does drink a few more gallons. Common Rail high pressure pumps don't rely on being timed to the engines but the injectors timing would be different.
Should look into the real number/percentage of CTD CP4 pump failures, seems the mob was crying foul from the day the '19 CTDs came out.

Hi Billet
Got the CP3.3 installed 4 weeks ago. How about you?
Got mine yesterday. It was kind of anti climatic because all that build up and it only took them 4 hours. So I guess all that hot shot lx4 I was putting in my fuel kept everything inside looking good. Was yours also just the std replacement out was there any glitter findings?

Mine wa just a replacement. no contamination. I've used a fuel additive since new. Will continue to do so.

Got mine scheduled for Wednesday 06/29/22. Only have about 22k miles and have had zero problems. Anything I should look for or questions I should ask before and after the job is complete? Thanks in advance.

From what I read, don't eat breakfast and make sure you fillup on the dealership's complimentary coffee & goodies.

All i asked afterward was any metal dusty glitter ever seen and were the fuel filters changed as a courtesy, don't expect number 2 but second the motion on filing up on free coffee, donuts and cookies.

Got my truck back from the dealer this morning. Surprised they kept it overnight, but they did give me a loner. Service manager said they test drove it this morning to verify all is good. All seems to be good, I have a road trip this weekend, so time will tell.

Well I've had ours back and I've been driving it around locally now for about a wk. I might be making believe in my head but i swear 2 things have changed.
1: seems to be more jumpy off the line instead of the dead pedal that I use to feel
2: seems more quite then it did before
Anyone have these same experiences with your new pump?

Yup, got a few thousand on it since the recall was done. Mine is more responsive, it's definitely more quiet and idles smoother. So much so that the wife noticed both from the passenger seat and she typically doesn't notice these things. AND as an added bonus (and I know some will claim BS) I'm getting better fuel mileage too. I don't drive it much since I work remote so my weekly mileage is about the same each week unless we're traveling, which we haven't done yet since the recall. I've definitely noticed better mileage in town and on the freeway, mine was always a fuel hog before. I thought at first it was a fluke but my DTE was always around 375 after filling up. Just noticed the other day when I filled up it was 445. Either way in happy with it. Now if I can only get rid of the annoying dash squeak the dealer can't find I'd be ecstatic!

That's hilarious, it was my wife that noticed the perkyness off the line. That makes me happy because I've always felt like there was a slight dead pedal on the take off but now it's not even noticeable. Cant speak to the fuel mileage yet as I haven't put enough miles on.

well i have avoided the grenading of my CP4 lemon and afrew a few months checkin on recall page and they have it listed as incomplete and parts available. i called my dealer and they said we can knock out the Y78 high pressure fuel pump and Z20 ABS. she said let me order the parts and give you a call when they are in and we can schedule you a date. pretty happy after dodging the bullet. well three weeks later she calls and says parts are in and can i bing in today 12july22. sure. dropped off and excited to get this crap fixed for a 4400 mile trip west pulling a trail. well about 230 pm service managed calls and say we are working on your ABS but bad news is the when they plug in the high pressure fuel pump they get a notice to not preform the fix...........blood pressure hit roof and was like wtf all parts orders and simple fix. he said the data says do not repair. .......he said the repair was for the 2020 one not 2019 but i said i to the rememdy and go ahead fro fica parts are ready. he said he cannot do it pref fca.......no reason was given.....i asked about upcoming trip and he said if it goes out id be responsible and have to submit claims....i asked well since no parts are available how will it get repaired??? he couldn't answer it ....it suggested FCA assistance....so i called handspike with Leyandra and she was very nice and even double checked for me. and the 2019 rams 6.7 are **** out of luck for repairs. sooooooooooo unman time i hope this 2500 bighorn 4x4 stalls and totals and burns to ground.......round and round with fica on electrical.......leaky windows....blah blah blah.....i sure do miss my 04 ram 2500 4x4 not a single live of problems the whole time i owned from 2004-2019. i hate my ram she tbox. wast makes the 2020 fix available and not the2019......... blah. hope she catches fire....what a POS. i have.

As I understand it there they do not have the software programing ready for the 2019 yet ( they have to update software when they install the new pump) the person who told you they could order parts to fix yours didn't do there job properly that person should have told you to bring it in so they could get the serial number off your pump to see if it could be fixed now or it was one that had to wait until later this fall... Also unlike Ford and GMC, FCA is stepping up to get the pumps replaces as soon as they can but FCA still has to wait on Bosch to get them made and shipped to FCA.....

Some Dealerships are a royal pain, I'm just lucky to have the time to read so as to be better informed about the newer engines & trucks, coming from a 2006 CTD to a 2022 is a big change in how things are done and what does and does not work... Good Lucky and sorry your dealer gave you false hope...
