2019 Warlock with the 8.4" radio and this morning it just went to full volume. The indicator on the display showed it still where I set it. I had to turn it all the way down to mute it. One click up in volume now goes full volume again?? My ears are still ringing. Is there a way to do a radio reset or something before I go the dealer route? Tried searching for info but not finding much
Thanks !

At times the Alpine radio in my Jeep is just the opposite, it won't have any sound. Strangly enough I can switch the input like from FM to AM, and the sound will return. It could be something simple like that. Good luck, I do hope it's a simple cure.

I'd enter your VIN on the UConnect site to see if there is a firmware update. You can reset the radio by pulling the inline fuse near the drivers side firewall/battery/break booster.

Do you happen to know which fuse or is the cover label good enough to find it?

Could it be something to do with the radio Menu speed setting ?

It's an inline fuse (one fuse in the holder). If you pop the hood and stand at the driver's side fender, look over the top right corner of the battery and it will be just on the other side of it.

My truck did this (2019 classic bighorn 8.4) it reset itself after being off a few hours and hasn't done it since. Was either full volume or nothing. Make sure your radio is up to date. If not, download the latest update and run it.

Mine has been ridiculously slow to respond at times.... any chance you had previously tried turning it up? I've done that and had it blow my ears out when it does finally register. Otherwise, I believe there's a way to do a reboot of sorts (more than just turning the truck on/off).

Turns out after work I went out with a list of things to try but it reset itself. Or at least the glitch went away. Hope it doesn't happen again it was a nasty shock.

Other than that it's does a random shutoff and restart while i'm driving lol

Thanks everyone

Mine hasn't done it since. I've read a few threads about it and it's an issue that pops up from time to time, but doesn't seem to repeat itself often.

Check and see if your firmware is up to date. Also, do you have like 911 so your radio does an OTA update, is possible also an update was pushed out and truck did not get it, or all of it, etc. BUT if behaving now, leave them dang U Connect thangs alone, when they ***** bad, they R a real PITA. just saying, IMHO...

May be why on MY 19 DT truck I have Plain Jane Uconnect 4 radio and NO OTA;s, LOL...

My radio has only done the update once a while ago. Not sure how it did it? Must have been wifi but it did ask first. So what ever my issue was, was totally random. You're right though, if it ain't broke don't "fix" it

This really sounds like a bug I had with my 2018 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman. It started with an OTA update in late 2019/early 2020.

The audio setting for adjust volume with speed needs to be turned off when you aren't on the highway, or about to head onto the highway, to keep this from happening. It will happen randomly otherwise.

Your radio actually has an always on cellular connection which is how the OTA updates are performed (among other things).

2019 1500 BIGHORN. Radio randomly goes high volume fot 10-20 seconds then back to normal. Usually when the truck is no running but not always. Not a big problem but it does surprise me.

I just had the same thing happen to me on my way into work. It was fine, then out of nowhere it went to full blast. Scared the $hit out of me. I quickly turned it down. When turning it from 0 to 1 it went straight to full blast. All or nothing. I stopped at a stop light. Powered off the truck, opened/closed the door to power off the radio, turned it back on and same same. So I rode the rest of my way into work without any sound (I did notice that sensors still beeped). Just as I pulled into the parking lot, it just powered off on its own and then powered back on. Then things are back to normal.

I wonder if it was an update running that needed a reboot?? Not sure. I don't know the previous firmware version to even compare to. I will have to monitor this going forward.

My wife's 2019 Charger R/T did this a few times and then it blue screened. It would go full blast and wouldn't allow you to change volume at all until you shut the car off and then restarted it. Hairy if you're on the interstate headed into work in rush hour traffic. We took it back to the dealer (only had 3k miles) and they ended up replacing the radio. Didn't really tell us why it happened but my presumption was a firmware issue.
