Ugh not this again right?

My truck has Mastercraft Courser CXT's on it. They look great and have a ton of tread left, but they are NOISY, and have flat spots from sitting, at least that's what it sounds like going down the road with the wowowowowowow.

So two questions, what are some suggestions for quieter (as quiet as possible) less aggressive tires but not something like Mich. Defenders. I want to keep an aggressive look and have some capability if I need it, but where I live, my off roading would be limited to about 50 feet through someone's yard if it ever came to that.

Second. I don't want to toss the Coursers. I'd like to store them if possible. But I've tried to keep tires in the past and they just dry rotted before I ever got back to them. Any best practices on how to store a tire? I'd most likely just keep them on the rims and get a new set of wheels to go with the new tires.

Ditto Cheechdog. As for storage, it ozone and sunlight that degrades tires. Store them in sealed bags in the dark. There's still a limit on how long they'll last, but it will definitely help. I notice much less weather checking on my inside dualies just because sunlight doesn't reach them.

grapplers.i'm on my second set.great all around tire
I love the Grapplers man, I was originally planning on getting either the cooper stt pros or the toyo mts, but the owner of the shop I got my work done talked me into getting the Grapplers lol ...

Unlike others, I actually wanted a loud tire which is why the stt pros or the toyo mts where on my list lol ...

Anyone know what rim sizes will interchange without a lift, adding spacers, won't rub etc? I'm in a 2500HD

BFG Advantage T/A Sport LT. Had them on our previous SUV(which was a 6000LB pig of a vehicle) Tires are just aggressive enough looking with large outside tread blocks yet rode smoothly and way quieter than I expected from a truck tire but should have guessed from experience with previous Touring Advantages. Good in the wet, decent in the snow, more than capable of lawn driving. ;-)

Anyone know the stock wheel offset for an 05 2500? Also a 2020 2500. What I'm finding isn't making a lot of sense.

I wanted to thank all of you that replied. I ended up buying a practically new set of 2021 Ram 18" rims (same width, same offset as my 05's) and I am putting Michelin Defenders on after all. Exactly what I said I didn't want in the first post. I'll have the stock wheels and current tires if I ever need something more aggressive.

I have Cooper Discoverer on mine. Mine ate the H/T and they have another as well. Might be Discoverer II, not sure and a little more aggressive looking. But, you got Michelin anyways so.......
I do wish I could find these wheels though. No idea who even makes them. Probably discontinued years ago.

Michelin Defenders are very good tires.

Everyone who has them loves them. The guy I bought the wheels from said he runs Defenders on everything he has.
It's the next, hopefully last, step in what has turned into project stealth. It was cool to drive before, but soon I'll actually enjoy driving it.

What ever you do do not get the Radar Renegade R7. These things have been a monster to get balanced. And while we are on the tire subject I have learned my lesson about buying tires on line. Now not the type that you purchase and have them shipped to a participating shop that installs them but getting them from a company such as the one mentioned in this thread and having them shipped to your home and then taking them and having them mounted and balanced. It has been a nightmare for me. If you have so much as an issue with a tire good luck. " oh you bought these on line and not from me and you want us to help you out " And that's just the beginning. I will stop here.

No, it's Costco for me. They are just too convenient and I know the tires will be "fresh".

I've looked there but never got any from Costco. Everything they have is expensive or out of stock for one reason.

The other is I figure they are always swamped and not as convenient to get in but that I don't know. Costco's around here are always very crowded.

I've looked and the cheapest price for defenders in the size I want are all the same. I'm going to order the tires, then make an appointment to go in Saturday maybe and have them put on. Price goes towards my membership fee. They are insane around here too. Won't just be walking in.

For my truck, I usually find the tire I want then go find the cheapest place to get it. My wife's Acura had Michelin Pilots on it and they were awesome, so when it came time to replace I opted for a little more aggressive Cross Climate II's (love them). Costco had them in stock and were about the same price as everyone else, plus they offer quite a bit of extra services down the road. If they sold the truck tires I like (Mickey Thompsons) I'd probably get them there as well.

I'm looking at Nokian Outpost AT's for my Ram 1500. Good looking aggressive tread....
