9.4L/100 km = 25 mpg on this trip. Thicker oil and better tires have reduced that down to around 23 these days, but very happy with that considering all the 13 to 16 some of you guys are getting. This was all highway, 3 hours.

I get 99mpg going down steep hills.......amazing!
Hell, I thought I was the only one.

If your worried about MPG and bought a PW, you bought the wrong vehicle. You have to pay to play….

I get 11mpg driving normal. Nothing is more irritating than someone driving too slow holding up traffic, especially if they are just trying to gain 1mpg.

2.5 MPD is the best that I've seen it get this week. MPD is miles per dollar. Based on $5.999 per gallon locally x 2.5 MPD = 15 MPG. Not bad for the Power Wagon.

I mean I knew it would be bad. But I still figured I’d be a tad better and I got the 8 speed. Overall I love the truck. Road trips with a trailer are a little annoying from the range.

There's only one city from here within a full tank 200 mile range in any direction with a population which barely exceeds 60,000. Another Power Wagon plus to stay clear of the big cities.

I agree range has more to do with it than actual mpg. If I had a 50 gallon tank I would not be so concerned about actual mpg but with these puny 31 gallon tanks it sux

It looks like you have people replying to this thread, on the Power Wagon specific page, that have 1500's????

Anyway, I decided to get a car to make the boring drive back and forth to work probably 8-9 years ago. It had really paid off since gas prices got stupid as my current car literally gets 3 times the fuel economy. Don't get me wrong as I love driving my Thuren equipped PW on 37's, but right now I'm saving almost $350/month just in gas driving to work plus the wear and tear on the truck. Heck, I wouldn't have put the Thuren lift and 37's on it if I had to drive it everyday! As much as I hate to admit it, the car is also a very comfortable ride. To each their own and I don't blame anybody for wanting to drive a PW everyday, but this is just the choice I made.

Guilty as charged, my bad. In my defense I never browse the forum by sub forum I just use the "new posts" page and whatever shows up shows up so I never know which subforum I'm in.

Crazy right? Can't complain with those numbers from my last trip.

And im heavy, and not very wind resistant...Thuren lift, 35's, slide in 1200#-ish camper in the back.

The secret was slowing down. All 2 lane so I could get away with 67 mph, which I found to be the sweet spot.

The computer isn't great for accuracy.

In my experience the higher the mpg the worse it is versus hand calculated.

My guess is that your actual mpg is in the 12 - 13 mpg range. Probably closer to 12 than 13.

The computer in my truck is very accurate. I have tested accuracy on long trips......it is always within 1/10th of a mile vs hand calculations. I get 19 to 21 mpg depending on terrain.....very satisified.

2013 Big Horn with 5.7 and 8 speed AT; I get almost 18 on I-5 here in Oregon if I drive 65. 2 miles less at 70. I was burning 87 octane until my last fill-up. We'll see what 85 does.

If you look right above the title of the thread, it shows you which section of the forum your in(see highlight in pic). This goes for desktop and mobile (when on mobile turn your phone sideways to see the subforum name).

Which direction?

I get better mpg going west to east due to winds.

No doubt the best mpg we'll ever record in our truck is with a stiff tail wind. However I routinely got that sort of mpg, 23+ over multiple round trips.

It does take some sort of effort. Not hypermiling, but definitely sitting in the right lane at <= 65 mph and passing people (with lots of downshifts etc) is completely out of the question. You just have to let it run slow and steady.

One fill up does not tell the story.
Different pumps, different temps etc effect the amount of fuel put into the tank.
I track every fill-up and mostly use the same station and pump and do it the same way every time, I use the TFL filling method. I agree one fill up and one trip does not tell any kind of story as far as mpg go. Driving the same route all the time round trip is needed. I live in Montana where either going up or going down with plenty of head winds and tail winds and cross winds. I have a Daughter that lives in Bozeman and one that lives in Boise ID so I have made those trips many many times and my Brother in-law lives in Spokane so make that trip very often too.

Just finished our first road trip to Seattle from central California. Up I-5 and back over the Siskiyous. Highest point on I-5, 4000 feet. Two adults plus luggage and some car parts in the bed.
Cumulative mpg almost 21. That includes some in-town driving in Seattle. Temperatures encountered ranged from 70 to triple digits.

2021 Hemi eTorque, crew cab, short bed, 3.92 differential.

The truck performed flawlessly. The only thing I could wish for is the larger gas tank to give me a little more range between fill-ups.
