I really hope that they just ‘forgot’ to tell me. What I wonder is if I had an oil feed issue, would FCA say ‘oh yes, we remember that dealer. We did tell him to use Napa Gold as they had run out of genuine, warranty level, no questions, asked filters ‘
I think not!!!!!!!! I have found out that in fact those NAPA Gold are recommended for OEM replacement and are supposedly as good as if not better than original………

I have both the MO-399 & the Wix 50760xp(?) and they both have 7 drain holes in them. When I look down into the filter they look identical. I have read that some filters only have 6 holes, so I wanted to post this as other options that may provide better flow.

Best regards,

Rod Knock,
So what do you use now?
I had a funny incident a couple days ago. (Just an aside)
Had my oil changed at dealer as only 2nd change. Full synthetic and paid, got home. Small drop off steering rack (as usual) Got under to clean off and found A NAPA GOLD FILTER!
Challenged dealer, they were out and fitted that instead! Not good. Didn’t tell me or ask me. I did check invoice and it was in fairness in there, just under parts…..7060. They assured me it was FCA approved. I blew and made them fit a genuine one yesterday. Was I over the top? Probably. My trust is now dented.
My dad has the truck now, but I still maintain it. I use PBL24651 and Mobil 1 EP 5W-20, which will be replaced with Red Line or HPL. I put HPL 0W-20 in my wife's Jeep, which runs great with 750ppm Moly.

oh hell no, I always keep that baby on lock- leatherman is in top drawer in my bedroom. I still cant wait to find my tin snips and then it will come to me the last thing I used it on which I have long forgotten. The real bad news and I am embarrassed to say, I bought a multi pack of snips and I cant find those neither g to the dam it. Like I have great luck with finding tools and finding the right tool in a hay stack, but for some reason my tin snips are freak'n playing a mean game of hide and seek with an old ****. And I used them all the time, now I am making do with a bunch of different things, I need my snips back.

Just get a can cutter from Amazon if you're into it.

I'd do it if I had access to a flow bench.

Wat I have installed, I just do oil and tire rotation every 5,000 miles. A lot easier to remember, look at Odometer and wala, time to change, lol. Not need no stinkin oil advisor computed calculated %%% to tell me when to change, LOL. Guess showing my age.

Ok so the xg2 is tuff to cut and pull apart!
Still pliable and didnt crack or anything. Backing is wire mesh and was able to separate 2 layers without it ripping into little pieces.

If i remember correctly someone emailed them and they said it was 3 layers and indeed synthetic still. Looks quality to me!

If you magnify you see the top of that media all stringy, looks like fiber not paper.

Yes definitely, i never pulled a paper one apart but have used those cartridge styles on a Toyota and this is definitely not that paper stuff.
