I call BS. One grainy internet video and we're all supposed to panic? I just checked all the local stores in my area and there is an unlimited supply to be delivered ASAP. And I live on Maui... the first place that runs out of stuff. I'm not trying to give OP crap as it's a good thing to keep an eye on but I think bald dweeb in the video is full of ****.

These are the kind of videos that make people panic buy everything and that's why we end up with shortages ..

Just like the shortages with toilet paper, napkins and other cleaning supplies especially coming from Proctor and Gamble, I worked for them up until last April and we were sitting on thousands of pallets of everything that every store was saying they didn't have any of ... P&G was bidding everything away instead of actually selling it , there was no shortage it was all B$ ...

Panic buying is going to turn everyone against each other pretty soon.

This seems to be very similar to spam type announcements I've seen in the past.

Nowhere in the entire article does it mention oil viscosity. 15W-40? Why are other viscocities not impacted?

There are at least a dozen oil manufactures in the USA. Are they all impacted? What is the bottleneck? Manufacturer for this critical chemical?

A complete lack of critical details seems to be more fear mongering than anything else.

A new NASTY email virus .

If you receive an email entitled ”Bedtimes” delete it IMMEDIATELY. Do not open it. Apparently this one is pretty nasty. It will not only erase everything on your hard drive, but it will also delete anything on disks within 20 feet of your computer. It demagnetizes the stripes on ALL of your credit cards. It reprograms your ATM access code, screws up the tracking on your VCR, and uses subspace field harmonics to scratch any CD’s you attempt to play. It will program your phone auto dial to call only area code 900 numbers. This virus is so bad, it will even mix antifreeze into your fish tank.
IT WILL CAUSE YOUR TOILET TO FLUSH WHILE YOU ARE SHOWERING. It will drink ALL your beer. FOR GOD’S SAKE, ARE YOU LISTENING?? It will leave dirty underwear on the coffee table when you are expecting company. It will replace your shampoo with Nair and your Nair with Rogaine. If the ”Bedtimes” message opened in a Windows 95/98 environment, it will leave the toilet seat up and leave your hair dryer plugged in dangerously close to a full bathtub. It will not only remove the forbidden tags from your mattresses and pillows, it will also refill your skim milk with whole milk.
WARN AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN.
And if you don’t send this to 5000 people in 20 seconds, you’ll fart so hard that your right leg will spasm and shoot straight out in front of you, sending sparks that will ignite the person nearest you. Send this warning to everyone!!!
PS ?THERE’S A LOT OF SADNESS IN THE WORLD! Right now, as you read this, 17 Million people are having SEX!!! And look at you – you’re on the computer!!!!? :p

I will admit that this is not the first time I've heard this about diesel oil becoming scarce. I heard it approximately 6 months ago. Something about one particular additive in diesel oil was going to be difficult to come by.

However, that was 6 months ago and the guy claimed it would be hard to find within 3 months. So I'm pretty certain it was a scam.

Not offended at all. I hope this is not true. I have seen some weird crap happen due to supply chain issues like getting the last set of Toyo tires in November in the entire Discount Tire US inventory (295/65R20's).

Stop, just stop spreading all this ridiculous fake news intended to continue the "Panic". People are so gullible.....

.
Didn't mean to induce any panic. This was forwarded to me by a buddy of mine who runs a auto repair shop. He had to switch vendors who supplied 5W20 oil due to them not being able to source that weight. They go through approximately 600 gallons a week of that weight.

I am down to 2 gallons of DEF, i think i should buy another jug.

I am down to 10 rolls of TP, need to buy another pack of 24

7 1/2 Quarts of eco-diesel oil, an oil filter, a gas filter

all will get me through to June 2023

No Crude Oil, would keep airplanes on the ground
would keep ships at the Pier
would keep semi trucks parked
would make everybody stay home
would stop the power companies drop production by 80%
would cut off the supply of Kerosene, propane, etc.
Would cut off all the Plastic production, how many things in your home or business is made of plastic

bbb has nothing to do with global supply chain gridlock. Pandemic + greedy executives with their stupid just-in-time supply chain (invented by Jack Welch of GE to squeeze every penny out of vendors) is. I lived this dream for 40 years.

Welch's stupidity was short term bucks and hanging successors when the inevitable world disruptions occurred. Let's stop with the ideologue politics.

There is no “shortage”. USA diesel export is higher than ever.

Yep - product goes to the highest bidder. The loss of crude from Russia (Ukraine war), U.S. (oil company execs refuse to pump more), OPEC (Saudis refuse to pump more), Iran and Venezuela sanctions continuing, and U.S. refinery shutdowns (permanently) at start of global pandemic caused this. Not some dumb national policy.

I'm not saying all diesel oil is hard to get, but just wanted to respond that there is no problem in getting oil.

I personally, just yesterday, went to order 3 gallons of T6 5w40 for my 3500. Looked at a lot site's, only found a small amount, and no way I would pay the price wanted.

So this morning I looked at Walmart sites, no T6 at any stores or on line.

I drove to my favorite auto store and was told no T6, actually knew no one in the area that had any. Said been 2-3 months since had any.

Had shelves of T4, T5, but no T6.

I called around and found 1 place that had 3 gallons left, when I went to get it I was told they could get very little and not often, and I was lucky.

Sounds like I should stock up on it even though I don't have a diesel.
