I think I have an issue here. When the tongue was on it wasn't an issue. Now however I think it best I figure ot a way to solve this. Even if I cut the caps out in the front of the bed there would still be trapped water below them. Drain holes in the floor of the bed? What's best to seal them so they don't rust themselves?

My line X guy puts plugs before spraying and then takes them out when drying without being told. No big deal, just drill some holes, I'd go big personally. If you were worried when the holes are in you can tape and use some spray pait, but I don't think you need to worry once you get it draining. I'd go right where crash said to put them.

My 2016 bed
The drain holes are in the very bottom of the bed, in the flattest part
You can see the large black plugs up on the beds front panel
Between those black plugs, but lower down, there are 2 slotted holes

On my truck, there are slots along the front edge of the bed, easily filled in with spray on bedliner. The slots are narrow ...only like 1/8", you might not even know they are there ...if they're filled in with bedliner plastic. One of my tks slots was nearly filled in from the factory beadliner. I slid a sawzall blade in the slot ..(by hand) and sawed the plastic (bedliner) to open the drain hole back up.
