Well, if you're going to build it, build it right.

Just ordered,

5.7L HEMI Forged 2618 Drop In Pistons and Rods Power Package
SKU: MMP-57FPRP

- 2013 - 2019 5.7 HEMI Powered Vehicle
- 3.917 Bore Ring compressor Tool
- Coated Rod Bearings and Premium Main Bearings

HEMI MDS Lifter Delete Kit by MMX/MOPAR - Components Listed
SKU: MMP-MDSDK

- NEW Hellcat Oil Pump (Fits all VVT engines)
- Diablosport Predator 2 for 2009-2014 ONLY Dodge Ram Trucks - RAM 1500 ONLY!

Pistons were in stock so they should be shipped soon. Once I have them, I'll start breaking down the new motor and reassembling.

Maybe an upgrade pully from Whipple for a little more boost now that the motor should handle it.

Planning on starting on the motor this weekend. Being it's a stock bore and stroke motor and not a larger displacement as the Hell Cat, I'm calling it the Hell Kitten. ;)

Ordered A ATI 6% OD Super Damper that should arrive tomorrow. Also the ARP main studs should be here next Tuesday.

I'll be breaking the motor down and start gapping the rings to specs on the MMX forged piston & rod drop in kit. If the Cam makes it in time, I hope to have the motor ready to drop in over the 4th of July weekend. I'm looking forward to this!!

More parts in yeserday. Last 2 items should be here next week. Going to try to get the short block complete if possible. Not sure how long it will take to gap the rings.

Last 2 parts were shipped yesterday (head gaskets & Beehive valve springs). I should have them next week. The transmission & transfer case have 342,000+ miles on it so I'm going to use the transmission I originally bought for a core to send off for a build/upgrade. It has less than 40k on it so it should handle the added power for now. The transfer case is brand new. Yesterday I purchased The PPE deep pan kit (includes filter, gasket & 10 quarts of Mopar fluid) OUCH! I also purchased the Revmax Transmission Cooler Thermostat Bypass . I'm going to install the Transmission and transfer case prior to the engine to make sure they are operating right, then the engine. I've been researching information on tuning. Not sure if dyno chassis or custom tunes from some of the guy's on here would be best. Originally I was leaning towards a local shop that does chassis dyno's, but they deal mostly with Fords & Chevys. I would feel better with someone that deals with Mopars. Thoughts anyone?

This is what the final build will be:

Have you considered a set of rocker shaft stablizers. I'm running the steel versions from Mopar, but Stanke builds similiar versions in aluminium that are slightly cheaper

No I have not, good suggestion! Steel would seem to be more durable. How difficult was it to trim the stock valve covers? Or did you go aftermarket on the covers?

Thanks!

Stock covers. The Mopar versions come with a template for the trimming required. They weren't very hard to trim,it's been about 7 years since i did them, but if i remember right it took about a 1/2 hour to trim them with a Dremel and sharp exacto knife.

I sent my build spec's to a tuner and he said I would need a fuel return set up. That caught me off guard. I've seen some good write ups on here on how to do it. Is there a complete kit out there that anyone knows of or am going to have to peice it out?

Beehives & Head gaskets in. Off next week, time to get to work. I just purchased MPVI+, Forced custom tune, credits for 8hp tune and the info needed for initial set up the remote fine tuning from FRP.

I contacted Mopar online performance about these and they asked for a vin #. They said these wouldn't work on my Ram and they were for Chargers and Challengers. WTH! Uninformed sales rep?

Did you see if your local dealer will price match or even come close to the online price for them

That's why I like to check around. Some people (parts dealers, not you) know their stuff and some don't. I know they will work because your using them!!
