Hey fellas. I just installed Xenon low beams and they worked at first but every now and again they don’t work (both left/right). I did the install myself so I know they’re connected correctly. The only thing that I doubt is the extension that comes to connect the ballast to the light bulbs. They seemed a bit flimsy and cheap. Also, the lights work whenever they want to work. It’s very bizarre. Has anyone had this issue? I’m thinking about taking them apart again and just bypassing the extension. The lights are called Xentec (5k). Any suggestions? Has anyone ran into this issue?
Thanks in advance.

I had a similar issue with my fog lights when I switched to HID. It was because I originally had the ballasts hanging which pulled the connection slightly.

A few holes and some zap straps later and problem solved.

My low beams did act out a few years back (probably 5 years after they were installed) I wasn’t sure if it was the relays, connectors or capacitors. The wiring harness (which included all 3) wasn’t too expensive so I just replaced it, problem solved.

Well just to help anyone that might go through this: the issue wasn’t the installation or hardware or anything new. After I took it apart, retrofitted it to where I knew it was installed properly and went back n forth multiple times, and it still would turn off after I turned the vehicle on so, I decided to take it to a professional to look at it and was told by the gentleman that it had nothing to do with the installation but rather the trucks’ sensors; after 2006 Chrysler cars became a pain in the ass relating to these sort of things. Having said that, I just got 6k LED lights and installed them and now everything works as it should. Btw, they’re just as bright as the hids.

for anyone wanting to continue with HID's and has this problem there is a setting in alpha OBD that lets you turn headlight HID's on as default had problem with mine just going off on me found that setting and no more problem. But still I have now upgraded to Fahren LED's now my hid's ballast would fail to come on once and a awhile and I got tired of flipping my headlights on 10 dang times to get one ballast to light the bulb so I now run high and low beam LED's best move ever I now run them in both of my vehicle's

I've had a very limited number of bulb outs with HID's. Maybe 3-4 total. If memory serves it always seems to be the driver side bulb.

Nothing changed in the install. I chaulk it up to the BCM wasn't happy during it's checks and shut it down. Couple restarts later the bulb will fire right up. I've had them for 4 years now so maybe once a year I've had "an" issue.

This sounds very similar to what I am experiencing and have started the same swap from HID to LEDs
