NEED HELP PLEASE ASAP , URGENT

I have a 2019 Dodge Ram , I am just over 1000 klm Mileage ... Few months back my truck was making sounds when trying to start it up with a clicking sound when starting , all other lights was working ... it was doing it off and on, I waited 5-10 minutes then it started to turn and worked... As time went on it started to do it more often... Until this one day 3 weeks ago , it wouldn't start at all...I tried at least 7 times ... and nothing ..Called a tow company .. took them 4 hours to show up , one turn the truck started right away ...Took it to dealership ... they couldn't find any error codes nothing ,...it started for them immediately , we told them something is wrong ... thought it might be the starter ... but wouldn't do anything else . they even kept it over night , it worked right away for them.. Picked up truck left the dealership went to work .. it did it again , so I went to a mechanic I knew very well , he replaced the starter with a new one... now its doing it again 3 weeks later... Yesterday after work , my client gave me a boost it started right away ....this morning again wouldn't start , got a boost started right away. Went to Canadian Tire to buy a new battery , they said battery was fully charged and alternator was fine... Now i am lost as what is causing what ...Any one have this issue that got resolved , please suggestions greatly appreciated it... On my truck it shows on voltage center it changing voltages every few minutes , it showed 13.4 last time I looked ... showing it was only half charged , that was the charge on my voltage center when I went to Canadian tire this morning after boosting it ... Again they said it was showing on their end it was fully charged ... This morning all warning lights were on ,,, including engine lights , and now no lights nothing showing

It still could be the battery regardless if it was tested. Perhaps you have a parasitic draw that's causing the issue. That might explain why you have to boost it to start it and then it will recharge and appear to be fine.

Do not rely on ther dealers claim to have tested your battery, they do lie often . Go to an auto parts store like a zone they can test it .

We have that on my wife's Cherokee, and it is a battery killer. Just put the second battery in the jeep a few months ago. Have you been getting warnings about Engine Start/Stop inactive, Battery Charging, or anything to that effect? If so, the battery may test fine sometimes, but it will die out on you also. A new AGM battery for that is a bit expensive but that may be just what you need.

I agree, get the battery load tested. The fact that you couldn't start but then a jump start worked is a good indicator that maybe that is bad. Could be a cell in there is wonky. I used to use a carbon pile tester at our store years back, worked really well. You have to be sure you are loading about half your CCA for 15 or so seconds, possibly your dealership didn't get the test right the first time Good luck.

I would not be surprised if your Ram Starting issues are 100% caused by the E-torque system

It makes so many checks on itself, that it may draw itself down

That battery is a 48 V , isn't it ?

Can Ram eTorque be turned off?

I think the eTorque battery is probably the reason for that. Don't know how it would be without it. But you can not disable it permanently, its "persistent". You would have to press the button to disable it each time you start the vehicle unless you get some gadget on the ODB2 port that does it.

I would have to agree it may be the battery. All things being equal, if you can jump start the truck after an non start a bad battery would make sense. Good luck.

BTW, I ordered my Ram without the e-torque. It looks like I may have made a good choice.

Had same issue. Get lucky cank one minute not the next. Had battery tested and showed good. No signs on the dash when running. Battery was failing and shorting inside. New battery issue fixed.

I had same problem, Many experts did this and that to no avail. Good friend and wrench said if replacing doesn't work its free. Two new batteries, problem solved! I'd had them checked at dealership and Walmart and Advance Autoparts all said batteries tested ok. Go figure...

I had a similar issue with my 2019 5.7 Laramie at 14 months old. I replaced the original battery with a brand new one and everything has been fine since. The dealership also told me the battery was fine. So I did a load test on it and it failed. I was surprised that a brand new factory battery only lasted 14 months. Which also surprises me that your 2019 has lasted this long. Factory batteries are not very good and you are definitely due for a new one. Good luck!
