That isn’t going to fix it. Now there’s conversation of KIA’s. Yes KIA’s.

The only fix is going to the specific power wagon forum website, it is pretty cool.

It's not going to fix it because it's now a very funny thread, and my Kia post was obviously a little bit of ... 'net fishin. Thanks for playing! ;)

I'm not sure what you expected from a thread titled "bragging about mpg" but lighten up a little my friend.

It was my family's KIA that catastrophically blew out the rear main seal while towing a utility trailer last week spewing oil to rust proof it. MPG was much more concerning to me with the filling up my Power Wagon at $6.199 per gallon regular gasoline on I-64 in Illinois than the current $3.899 in Virginia. I understand the reason it's $5.999 near my home in Colorado due to there's no other station for another 40 miles, but still that's crazy.

I'm getting 8.9 in town and 9.5 hwy. I'm wondering if software can tune the MPG up? It's a 2021 PW running Yokahama 35 mud tires.

Tire recalibration for 35s, replacement of my spark plugs, flatter terrain, not driving against the wind, and warm weather conditions seemed to improve my MPG. Come winter though when temperatures don't exceed 0 degrees Fahrenheit my highway gas mileage is around 8 to 9 MPG and 5 MPG on our mountain highway 10% gradient. Software tuning will more than likely void the warranty on a 2021.

unless you are really heavy footed and have not calibrated your speedometer for the taller tires that is really poor mpg. I have almost 22,000 miles on my 2020 running 35 Toyo RT's and have a calibrated speedometer and tripometer via AEV procal snap and even if I lead foot it and drive 85mph I get much better than that. in almost 22000 miles I have never had a single that low unless they strictly offroad moab miles. I recently got back from Moab where I tracked my miles from start to finish I did 1831 miles and used 127.613 gallons of fuel. that included fast highway driving as speed limit is mostly 70-80mph and offroading while in Moab.

I did forget to mention the beast is not recalabrated for the larger tires.
I'm also running the Yokahama's at 54 psi. A while back I tried to purchase a AEV procal snap. They were holding back unless you purchased a lift kit from them or something to that effect.

they are back in stock for individual purchase now, but they seem to go fast. I run my toyos at low 30's. No need to run an e rated tire that high unless loaded. Toyo has a great inflation guide based on tire and weight. I have found on my power wagon even loaded over its GVWR I don't 50psi. I have found for my truck my mpg does not change enough to matter running low 30 psi vs 60psi and ride is much better lower.

Yes, 35 PSI is a good cold pressure for Toyo 35's even for towing unless there's a heavy load on the truck itself. 27,500 miles on my rotation of 5 C/T's and they all still look new.

That’s great! I’m waiting on parts for a Thuren kit myself, they’re right around the corner from me and great people.
I got 13mpg driving across the country with a 16ft trailer on 37s. I know 13mpg doesn’t impress many people but… 37s

i don't even want to know what i'm getting, especially if i'm towing my t/t. or boat. nobody in their right mind gets a Powerwagon hoping for acceptable, let alone good gas mileage. i just top up every chance i get.

Good thread/info. Thanks for your experiences. It's comforting to know we are all in around the same mpg's.

Really?

I was just in Colorado and it wasn’t $5.99, I’m in Virginia and it’s not $3.89 and hasn’t been.

So where is fuel $3.89 in Virginia?

Last time I checked they don't put the Cummins in a Power Wagon. This thread is in the Power Wagon subforum, meaning it's about Power Wagons and if you would have bothered to read before blindly posting you would have realized this is for Power Wagons.
A further note the EcoDiesel would have the bragging rights as you can squeak out +30 mpg with them.
Sorry to have offended you and anyone else. I am a new Ram owner and am not educated about all the different varieties of Ram pickups. If you would prefer I not participate in your forum, please let me know and I won't participate any more.

Really? I don’t care about your opinion, but facts are facts of which you can verify. Whether you believe that or not it doesn't matter.

Check gasbuddy for the $3.89 in Altavista, VA since you doubt my obviously lying word. Going to fill up there tonight once again.

Mesa, Colorado is $5.999 for 85 octane regular (only grade available) and that's my rural location. It's a Conoco. The price should still be what it was the last time I filled up there. Diesel was $6.499. Contact Grand Mesa RV Park and ask their pump prices since you are insinuating that I am dishonest. There is no other gasoline available nearby. Next gas on the highway is another 40 miles with 52 minutes of 10,000 feet in elevation gain and descent on mountainous roads.

I just purchased gasoline 3 miles north of Altavista, VA. $3.94 isn't bad, but in Altavista it's cheaper. Out of way though.
