Is there any way, any device I can purchase for a reasonable cost to get my 2014 Ram 3500, 6.7 Cummins, standard transmission out of derate?

Going to need more info then that. What do you mean by "derate"? Did you get some sort of warning message? Do you have any codes?

The truck threw a code referring to the emissions system. I've reconnected all the sensors and the truck is still at 5MPH. I knowmit has to do with the emmisions and I am not prepared to take it to the stealership.

You need to check for codes first. If there is a faulty sensor, injector, heater, ect. you'd gave to fix that first in most cases. AlphaOBD app on a phone and a bluetooth OBDII dongle would get it done. Then you could run a regen to see if it resets.

Is it in a "derate" status or "limp" mode or some combo of both? Need to have the codes read and deciphered for sure.

Thank you for the replies. I am away from the truck for the next week and will get back to see what I can find out with my OBD-II reader.

I just asked Google & it kicked out this .....

What does DPF full engine derated mean?

A derate means that the program inside the engine computer limits either the power or vehicle speed. A derate is designed to protect you from causing engine or DPF damage. A derate can be caused by various sensors or systems.

Suggestion: ensure you have not run out of DEF

Woa. The emissions controls on these trucks is beyond stupid expensive when they go **** up. EGR is the dumbest thing that you can do to an ICE. If you think someone who has taken steps to make THEIR truck run reliably, efficiently then perhaps you wouldn’t mind footing the bill to fix them when they do fail. I like clean air just as much as the next guy, but I also understand that by having a truck lose some weight, it gets better fuel mileage, doesn’t leave ya in limp mode or derate the power when you’re in the middle of nowhere USA. Rolling coal, that’s for immature brats, they shouldn’t do it and it wastes fuel. So the next time ya want to get on that soap box, think about why people are doing this.

Sell your ram, buy a Tesla and join their forum.
Hard to imagine someone with this attitude even owning a RAM! I could see being overly bent about environmental impact if every vehicle owner was wanting to mod their truck, but in reality, there *may* be ~ 1% willing to do it...

In a perfect world , no exhaust . My 2015 Cummins, would go into limp mode every 5-10000 miles. Dealer says get on the highway to regen . I just drove with rv 2000 miles ! Does that count ? Had to get on highway to get to dealer ! Then egr is clogged , too much city driving , impossible, it was cleaned 3 times, took major fighting to get them to cover it under warranty . 36,0000 miles it does it again , this time they want to clean the whole system over 2000, even though it was a known problem , for less I did the delete, never had another code, limp mode ( 300 miles from a dealer with rv , last time ) I drive very easy , my engine will not put out black smoke like the older ( 2007 and before) models , drive 69 , I get 22mpg, 2015 tradesmen crew 4x4 long bed , stock tires, never back to the dealer since then .
Makes no sense to put exhaust back into an engine.

Let me add , I was in south Texas, lots of Highway and ranch road driving , truck has a ranch hand bull nose front with 15,000ib. Winch , I took out that transmission thermostat block and replaced with a free flow( lowered temp 35 degrees) I have a steering box brace installed, double bilstein steering dampener, bilsteins shocks, I can clear codes ( never had another after delete) check load, torque, fuel rail pressure, compressor temps and many other things . Everyone has their own issues , truck is tough, pulls trailers with ease , and I fixed all the issues I had since ram was no help. Most likely my last vehicle,

Bypassing the emissions controls is illegal and shows your total ignorance of environmental issues and everyone's health and well being. Hope the solution costs you a bundle.

A little aggressive are we? I've never bypassed my emissions system so I don't believe I am ignorant of environmental issues as well as everyone's health and well being. The solution to my problem may still cost me a bundle but it will not be for bypassing anything. I thought this forum is for like-minded folks to share information on keeping their trucks running well. It's a shame people like you like to bash others without even knowing the whole story. I think they call people like you who hide behind their keyboards and whom would NEVER dare talk that way in person, a "troll". Are you one of those? Just asking.
Back to my problem; the truck has not thrown any codes and my system is intact. My next question would be: how difficult it is to learn which sensor may be malfunctioning. Is there a publication that lays out the parameters these sensors are supposed to be in for proper operation?
By the way, I keep my truck bone stock as I use it commercially to haul cars throughout the 48 States and have to follow strict DOT guidelines.
