101 HP 4x4 5 speed manual trans with solid axles, that gets 40+ mpg's and a well over 400 mile range with a 10 gallon tank, non di, would you be interested? Many guys would say no, I must admit if you HP guy and I think most RF members are, this is not your car, but I'm not a HP guy at all, and I personally might opt for something like this. In the name of "greenness" this car would be the usa wet dream? Nope, can't buy it here, why? Doesn't have USA emission standards. Yes these were a joke back in the 80's, the suzuki samari maybe the reason suzuki left the usa, but things chnage, brands adapt, make progress.
The 2022 Jimney, mind you I am a full size suv type pf guy, but at 16 grand starting price I'm sure the masses would rather be in this and get those benefits over the cheap suv market here? Our friend bought a 30k+ lexus SUV I literally cannot fit in, it looks like this one would fit me much better and tops out at 19g's their top model. Guys who are 6'4 know exactly what I am talking about, these small suv's the usa are selling are simply not possible to sit, unless you like having your head pressed into the roof. It seams like the only thing that fly's in the usa is to have more HP and make it di, but if we are talking about mpg's would you rather have a 1.5 liter lil banger or a di for longevity?
