So went to express lube today, but that’s a story in itself.
was surprised they recommended a fuel system flush. 2021 tradesman 5.7. 16,000 miles. Also recommend brake fluid flush every 20,000.
hmmm
Spotted a 2022 Bighorn with the black widow package. Lifted, 37s, very nice. $62k for the truck and $21k for the black widow upgrades.
while I was there, a guy moved three wagoneers, 2022 5.7 etorques. First one rattled away for a few seconds on startup. Rest sounded okay

Not sure about the fuel system flush. That's a new on me. But a brake fluid flush every 20k sounds reasonable, depending on how many miles you drive each year. Glycol based (DOT 3, 4, and 5.1) brake fluids are hygroscopic, meaning they absorb water from the atmosphere (attracts moisture). Excess moisture in the brake fluid can cause corrosion and affect how well your brakes work. This moisture also lowers the boiling point of the brake fluid, which is never a good thing with brakes. Maintaining low moisture content in your brake fluid will help extend the life of your brake system. So it's usually a good idea to flush your brake system every 1 to 2 years. The exception to this is if your vehicle uses silicone based (DOT 5) brake fluid, which is non-hygroscopic.

i run mid grade real gas, no ethanol unless i cant get it, so i have ran a very few tanks of 10% ethanol, i run on the top half of the tank, and did a BG fuel system flush at 140k, made no difference, same fuel mileage and seat of the pants power.

brakes fluid maybe but seems kinda soon, but the fuel system flush way soon to me.

In my experience, the insta-lube facilities are always trying to upsell. They will tell you an oil change is needed every 3K when the owner's manual might say 5K, 7.5K or something entirely different. Do their salespeople get commissions? Makes me wonder...

Follow your maintenance requirements per your owners manual and not the insta lube computers.

While I do agree with others who have responded re: brake fluid flush at 16K that might be a smidge overkill. I prefer to do that type of work myself and typically change out the bleeder valves to be one way check valves to make my life easier.

This does for me reinforce the reason I do my work :(

Those guys will give you a list of items to upsell every single time. They do it to my wife every time she takes her car to the dealer for her maintenance package. At least her dealer was more reasonable and didn’t recommend a brake system flush until she was around 50k.

Just go by the factory intervals.

Was the express lube at a Ram dealer or an express lube business. If it was the latter get the hell out of it and never, ever go back to it or another one. That maintenance recommended at that low miles?! Unless you are using poor gas you should never need a fuel system flush. You do not need any of those. Check your friggin owner's manual!! If it was a Ram dealer run from it also. I know some will disagree with me, but the people who designed your Ram know what is best for it.

I went to Valvoline in Prosper TX and had my 2021 Jeep GC serviced at 11k mi. They tried to sell me a cabin filter, transmission service, brake fluid, and the best one was the air filter. Mine was yellow and it should be white. When I told the guy that Mopar filters are yellow, he told me I did not know what I was talking about. All air filters are white. I asked if he was on commission and he really got mad. Manager came over and told and saod all services are to be offered. I go to the dealer. I still have 3 free ones from Jeep.

I would check-in for mental evaluation before I would go to any quick lube type places.
Dealers charge more and you will be upsold there as much as anywhere.
Best Bet : Find a local independent garage that comes highly recommended by your neighbors and establish yourself there.
You will find good reliable service at a fair price.

I was under the impression I was flushed fuel out each time I start it
Out tall pipe?
My grandfather used to say he rotated his tires every time he drove the car. I agree with you, but disagreed with the tire rotation strategy! I have never flushed the fuel system in anything I have ever owned. Never had a problem in 30 years.
