Hello all!!!
I have a RAM 2017 Hemi Crew Cab, charcoal gray.

Today, I just noticed that there is some clear coat loose on top of the HEMI badge. It is a small 2mm line right on top of the badge. I started scratching it a little and it seems it can be easily removed but I'm not sure if it is some king of glue from the badge, or if it is actually clear coat. Has anybody experienced this?

Pictures. Are you original owner? Sounds like bad masking job on a re-spray of the clear coat after a previous repair.
I'm the third owner, but this car has a clean report of no accidents. I've looked meticulously the fender and it has not been repaired.

I'm just wondering if anybody else have had problems with the clear coat anywhere else on their Trucks.

Looks like the typical masking around the badging re-clear coat job. Probably was a cash deal to a repair shop (guy) by a previous owner that didn't want to report it so that his insurance didn't go up. I can bet if I saw it in person I can point out other signs of work. From the factory, the badging is applied over the factory clearcoat. Factory clear coat does not just start peeling around badging. There is no reason it would. But new clear coat sprayed around the badging and the surface was not sanded or prepped, yes it will peel.

It makes sense...

Last couple of times I had body work done all the estimates had bold letters saying, "We do not report repairs to Carfax". Carfax can only report information that is voluntarily submitted to them.

If it was repaired, damn they did a great job but not on top the HEMI badge... I have verified and there are no signs or imperfections at all.

If the truck was "keyed" or just clear coat/ paint repaired there would be no other signs.

The second half of your statement I quoted above contradicts itself. You did find the imperfections, the peeling clear coat.

Sometimes an owner will not file a claim with their insurance company if the repair cost is less than their deductible.

Of course, it could also be the result of a dealer correction when new(er).

Looks like the clear liner backing paper, it wasn’t fully removed when emblem was put on or was re taped and not completely trimmed edges and put emblem back on
