Big shout out to @RamCares and Uconnect for assisting me in getting my radio replaced free of charge on my 2018 ram Laramie which had the radio start de-laminating about a year ago. I was getting the run around from the dealer and they quoted me $1080 or something to replace and I was out of warranty after 2 years. For that price I could get something aftermarket but guys on this forum told me to reach out to @RamCares to see if something could be done, after some back and forth they warrantied out the radio and the new radio was ordered and arrived in a month. Today that radio was replaced free of charge! I have the 8.4 NAV radio with carplay and it all seems to be working correctly (load screen is different) but otherwise I just need to go through and reprogram layout of buttons etc. Saved me a ton of money and got the dealer who quoted me $1080 to do it for free. Radio swap took about an hour from when I dropped it off to walking out with the truck.

The delaminating is when the screen seperates due to the glue being faulty due to high temps. The only fix is to replace the screen or whole new radio for the 19+ model with the non faulty LOC adhesive. You will get ghost touches which means it will randomly and consistently touch parts of the screen without you. For me it was the clock button which would have an annoying popup constantly up which would render the radio basically useless even with car play or using bluetooth on a call (screen constantly flickering bouncing back and forth).

Anyways... Thanks @RamCares

Awesome to hear it worked out in the end. It's not the fastest process, and patience is required, but in the end its worth it.

I am having the same problems. Dealer indicates the 3 year 36k warranty on my 2018 Ram Rebel with 56k miles will not cover it. Considering it is an integral part of the vehicle computer system for Navigation, Climate, Radio and all other System controls I wouldn’t expect it to stop working at only 55k miles warranty or not. I’m very disappointed. I’ve been a MOPAR owner my whole life. Now this is making me question my loyalty. I’m posting here hoping that @RamCares can help.

This really should be a recall or warranty extension. These 2018 radio screens are dropping like fly's. I see at least 1 post a day if not more.

Mine has started in the upper left corner as well, spreading across the top of the screen- very frustrating. I have around 42k miles, but I also have the lifetime MaxCare service contract with $100 deductible. I suppose that should cover it, but given that it’s a known defect I shouldn’t really even have to pay the deductible.

I just hate having my truck at the dealer, every time it comes back with a new ding in it

My 2018 with 100k just started to de-laminate a few months ago. I'm watching it get worse by the week. I'm glad they resolved this for you. I hope they will for me as well.

I removed the digitizer with thin fishing line. Cleaned up that hellacious LOCA between the digitizer and LCD screen. Final cleaning of all surfaces with rubbing alcohol. I secured the digitizer along the edges to the LCD screen with Scotch two sided tape folded over itself once and reinstalled the radio. A completely error free system and I didn’t have to deal with the terrible Ram dealer nearby. I’ll never bring my vehicle to them for anything, ever.
It’s a touchscreen , not a push button system. Lightly touching the digitizer is all that is required. Cost me one bottle of 91% isopropyl alcohol, 2 microfiber cloths and about 20 lens cleaning papers.
If in the future the digitizer breaks, they can be had for about $40-60
If I feel brazen enough I might treat myself to a 3rd generation digitizer/lcd panel for $450-600
But I still won’t ever bring my vehicle to the dealer, ever.

Ram is well aware of the issues with the 2018 8.4 screens. My dealer is pretty good to work with. My screen delaminated at 48k miles, well out of warranty. When I contacted them about the possibility of a good faith replacement they immediately told me it’s standard practice for them to replace bad 2018 radios outside of warranty for $100 deductible but the radio will be a refurbished unit. Supposedly Ram sends out the bad units to a depot and the screens are replaced with an updated part and those refurbs are then used as the out of warranty replacements. I had no issue with that deal and my refurbished replacement has been flawless for over a year now. The bad screens were made by LG with the improper LOC. LG has a improved replacement screen that goes for about $400 on eBay. The new screen part numbers are as follows if you want to replace the screen yourself. Several YouTube vids on the replacement and it looks pretty easy.
LA084X01(SL)(02)
OR
LA084X01(SL)(03)

DO NOT USE THE ORIGINAL SCREEN PART AS IT WILL ONLY DELAMINATE AGAIN. The new parts must have the (02) or (03) at the end.
