Dude, that sucks hard core.
No judgement here, I have lofted cars onto their formerly useful roofs, LOL.
But, for everyone saying they cannot believe that it took so little to damage the truck so much, there really is some engineering behind all of this.
Vehicles nowadays are designed specifically to crush like this in a collision. It takes the force and dissipates it before it causes harm to the people in the cabin.
Most other 11 MPH crashes would not be so bad, but in this case, you truly DO have irresistible force meeting immovable object. When you factor in the amount of torque the truck has at low speed and the fact that the pole simply is NOT budging, it sets things up for an amazing amount of damage from a seemingly minor incident. If the concrete guy hadn't been quite so on point that day, you'd have done half the damage to your truck, and the pole would have sheared off.
Now, the good part is that since cars are designed to fold in this manner, they are also designed to be repaired from things like this. Believe it or not, this is actually a fairly easy fixer. If you consider, $14,000 worth of parts needed on a $60K or so truck is comparable to $5000 worth of parts needed to repair a $24,000 vehicle.......a figure you would see about 20 years ago. Remember back then, hearing that someone did 5 grand worth of damage to a car was pretty breathtaking....and they fixed those all day long.
Things haven't changed, the numbers just got bigger.
