I have a ‘20 Classic. I had it lowered 2/4. They informed me at the time but we didn’t know what to make of it since this was my first truck without leaf springs. My 2020 ram 1500 classic did not have a rear sway bar on it when I got it. I bought it brand new with 15 miles. I want to put a rear sway bar on it but since I have absolutely none of the parts to start with I need to know exactly what I need? I’ve checked all the local junkyards but, since I live in Florida, they consider an 09 up to 2018 to new of a truck to be in the junkyard. As insane as that sounds it’s an actual fact. Also, since the truck has lowered 4 inches in the rear end I wouldn’t know which and links to use? Any information you have would be fantastic. As I don’t get on this forum enough if you send me an email I’ll get it faster but I will try to look back here if I remember. [email protected]
Thank you in advance

Factory bars can sometimes be found in the "For Sale" section on here as most people upgrade to aftermarket.
You can also check craigslist or facebook marketplace for people parting out trucks.
Helwig is a common upgrade and will include the bar, bushings and clamps; possible the end links depending on the part number.
Check with Moe's Performance as they are a forum vendor / sponsor

Listen to mcm. Go with hellwig. Moes performance is a forum vendor and a great company to get help from. It should include the brackets and bushings you need to mount it but you will need sway bar links and bolts and given you have a 4” rear drop you’ll need shorter than stock links. You could message moes performance about what links to use with your setup.

I want a thicker than factory bar for the front and rear. My problem is, because it didn’t have one to begin with and I’m a **** mechanic, I don’t know what parts to buy since I’m not simply replacing an existing part. Also, because the trucks lowered 4” in the rear, shouldn’t the end links also be 3”-4” shorter? I know to someone who can work on these I must sound lame. But this thing has a lot of body roll and I can’t have that. I want the stiffest ride I can put together.

My comment about shorter links was not about length but about where to find them. There is a specific sway bar link that people use for the lowered trucks. Look on high performance rams on Facebook if you have Facebook. Most of the big lowered racing guys are there. I think core 4x4 makes shorter rear sway bar links too but that is why I mention talking with moes performance. Matt is extremely knowledgeable about these trucks as he builds and races them as well. Hellwig also sells front sway bars for 2wd. Is your truck 2wd or 4wd? The hellwig rear sway bar has 3 holes for adjustable stiffness.

Reduce the endlink length by the same amount as the static drop, that's a good place to start to keep the rate from being radically different than it's designed to be.

If your truck is a 4X4 you're SOL on a heavier front bar,if 2 wheel drive Hellwig has front bars. This rear bar is a full 1/4" thicker then the Hellwig bar.

Here's the Roadmaster swaybar next to the stock R/T rear sway bar...
The Roadmaster bar came with heavy duty end links... I didn't install them as I will be lowering the truck 5" in the rear and need a shorter set of end links ...

It handles so much flatter ... but a little more squirrely ... it needs the heavier front Hellwig bar to even out the forces and keep the rear end from breaking loose ...
