I run 35 Mickey Thompson mud terrain tires and even aired up for trailer towing it rolls smooth, does it ride like a Chrysler 300 "NO" but it is not a Chrysler. Sounds like there is a problem in the rear.

I have been with a couple of friends in the past who had tires that were improperly balanced and at certain speed it felt like you were being ejected from the cab. Once they both found a shop to correct those balance issue their trucks rolled smooth.

Hello from a fellow KTM addict. I have a regular 2500 4WD and like the others have said, it's the smoothest HD truck I have ever been in. That being said, there is about 1 mile of I85 by the Union City exit south of Atlanta where some kind of resonance happens with the repaired concrete they did there, and my truck rocks and shakes so badly that I do not doubt it would make me ill if it lasted a while. The good news is that I drove it one day a really small load in the bed, maybe 50 - 100lbs and the effect did not happen. I do have the air suspension though. But you are not crazy; it can happen!

I grew up on the N side of ATL and am familiar with that section of 85. Imagine that for 30 or more miles.

Hey folks, new owner here.

I've searched the forum, and scoured the internet, but can't find a definitive answer, so here's my question:

I've owned all types of trucks (most recently a 100 series landcruiser). The PW is everything I want in a vehicle, but the ride is not at all what I was expecting. My Landcruiser was built and had E rated tires, but the ride was manageable. In my PW it seems like there's a constant bounce from the rear of the truck and it's actually made me carsick (first time it's ever happened to me). I see lots of posts about tire pressure (I tried that), a new rear track bar ($$$), but I'm curious if there's a way to get rid of this problem? I don't usually carry much weight in the bed, and don't want to haul around sand bags back there. I pull an overland camper (maybe 1k lbs), and have a hitch rack to carry my KTM 890 Adventure R (500lb tongue weight). Outside of that, I bought the truck for it's off road capability, not towing. Is this something that can be solved, or am I never going to be happy with the ride? It has only 10k miles on it, so I'd be surprised if something is wrong, but I have it at the dealer currently to see if there's something going on with the suspension.

Thanks in advance!

Hi-Don't usually participate verbally in the Forum, but I'm an 80 year old retired Chrysler Exec, who probably in my career had every type of Dodge Truck/Ram vehicle -3500/2500/1500/ Duallies you name it. Just turned in a 21 PW 2500 with 25K on it that is part of my annual Executive Retirement Lease program. I'm going to be brutally honest. That PW was probably the best riding truck I ever had in that category. Believe me when you turn eighty those Michigan roads reverberate from your toes to your teeth. Better check out all your suspension components, because something AIN'T exactly right here!!!!

I had a 2014 PW and now have a 2021. The tires they both came with are D rated and not only rock drilled easily but felt like I was driving on balloons. I changed to E rated Toyo CT and AT3 respectively and the ride and handling is much better

Did you purchase this vehicle new or used?

Purchased used at a Ram dealer. It was the GM’s personal fleet vehicle.

Just to close the loop - the dealer says my truck rides “normal” for a rougher suspension Power Wagon (their comments on the service paperwork). They say any change in the ride is due to my larger tires 315/70/17 load range D.

I’m honestly ready to let the truck go at this point. Maybe I’m having a temper tantrum, but with the premium you pay for a new automobile, you should love what you drive. Maybe I’ll change my mind. The problem I have is no other truck has the options I want. There’s no new Tundras to be had and that’s my second choice.

Quick update: I went to drive a new Rebel and as no surprise it’s a much smoother ride. I also drove a 2019 2500 (6.4 gasser) in limited trim and it was substantially smoother than my PW. Something is definitely wrong with my truck. My understanding is now the PW should ride better than a normal 2500. Even the salesman was surprised by the ride of my truck. Off to another dealership for a second opinion.

Have you unbolted the bottom shock bolts yet and cycled them?

The reason why I asked, is it possible the shocks or some other suspension commonents have been replaced with aftermarket?

Since the Power Wagon is a low production vehicle, I keep wondering whether or not the rear suspension is entirely made up of 2021 Power Wagon components.

The only other low production vehicle I have ever owned was the one my father purchased new in 1968. An all standard basic looking Mercury Cougar with only the engine code R (428CJ) and the required racing suspension option. It was a mid-year production vehicle. Came from the factory with an outdated 1967 rear axle assembly.

Hate to dig up an old thread, but I'm having a similar issue with a 21 PW. Currently borrowing from my Dad but plan to purchase the truck soon. I experienced the concrete pavement joints towing this past weekend (wasn't much fun) but I noticed today that hitting a large joint or something in the road at city speeds seems to cause a bounce then a side to side wiggle for a second (wondering if the two situations are related?). OP did you ever resolve your issue? This truck only has 19k miles on it and is stock so I wouldn't assume anything is worn out yet. I feel like the truck overall rides pretty well coming from a 1500 but would like to address the bounciness if possible.
