I had them; they suck. If you have anything in the bed within the swing area you have to move it out of the way in order to swing the bin out. They were too much of a PITA. I removed them and donated them to Goodwill.
Good point. Hadn’t thought about that…….

I have one on my driver’s side. Bought it in 2018 and its been holding up well, but I do need to oil the spring latch that locks it to the truck bed.

I store straps, bungees, tire repair kit, frisbee (for those time when you wait for people to show up), and other odds or ends.

I would buy it again if this one breaks, and have been toying with the idea of getting one on the passenger side for 3+ years.

The only part that sucks is if my bed is full you have to remove everything in the swing path, but a little planning ahead and I can get stuff I need before I load my bed.

I have both (right and left) and I love them. Excellent use of wasted space, they lock and easy to install and use.
Highly recommended.

I installed one a few months ago on my 2500. Not worth $200 but it does give me a place to put miscellaneous tools, jumpers, etc.. unfortunately like most other boxes it becomes a junk catch-all that needs to be "decluttered" often. Would I do it over again?...yes.

I had one, and as cool as an idea it is/was, mine was a piece of junk. The lock broke, the box never locked in place, and the hinge twisted. I didn't keep a whole lot in there, it just seemed it wasn't built well.

Again, good idea, but not executed well.

Recently bought a pair of clones for about half price of originals. Aware of the limitations yet desired due to my rig having camper shell which excludes over-the-fender access to contents. Swing/slide out boxes were something I was looking for. Weather not so much consideration with shell, but still haven't mounted mine due to clearance (or lack of) with the shell clamps. I need to research if a smaller dimension bed to shell clamp is available. but the quality looks like basically what you would expect from a prime knock off unit, not too bad. I would be concerned about the "quick removal pins" had I not a shell. Need a way to lock those down IMO

I have both sides of the swing case brand. I too have a Leer topper, so wanted the swing out function. I load mine down heavy, remove them periodically by simply lifting then off the hinge, and I absolutely love them. Bought mine second hand off a used marketplace so cost was less of a factor. I'd buy again without hesitation.

Here are pics of my shell clamp and case clearance. Hope it helps you.

I have 1 each on driver's side of 2 truck beds. I find them pretty convenient/waterproof. But yes, have to admit the price had me gritting my teeth vs usefulness. Overall, for me its worth it.

I've got the swing case brand installed on my passenger side under my Snugtop. loaded with all my tow straps and such, not too heavy. It works great.

I have one on each side. Can load them up with all kinds of stuff and never have to worry about stuff in the bed being in the way. THEY ARE CALLED RAM BOXES. Love em!

I bought at set on Amazon last month. $200 for the set. No decals on them so I assume Chinese made. They claim to hold 75lbs. Each though I only plan on using them for light duty storage. Tow ball/knee knocker in one and a few rags and bungee ect. Directions were lacking but straight forward easy install. Took 10 minutes per side. I love them so far.

Ive been looking at these swing out storage boxes for my 2020 RAM 1500DT. You can get them for either side or as a set for both sides. This one is on Amazon but there are off-brand models that all look alike to the brand names. Prices vary quite a bit, however, they all seem to function and mount the same. Anyone have any of these swing out boxes? If so, what do you thing about them? Good, bad, so-so? Easy to install, not worth the effort? Any options, thoughts or even a good sea story are welcome. As always, thanks in advance.

Not mine. I mean it's not crazy noisey, but it is still noisey
I have two Swing Cases brand. They will swing out enough to allow the lid the almost open a full 90 degrees without rolling up the trifold tanneau cover. However, if you need to roll up the tanneau cover for some other purpose like storage of items, you have swing the cases out get clear access to the latch. I enjoy mine emencly and have them configured for common items on the driver side and less common on the passenger side. The only minor drawback is the the mounts obstruct the bed LED lamps in both corners of my 2022 Ram Laramie Sport.
