Hello everyone, new to this forum. I got a quick question regarding fluids. I was told by several people the transfer case should be changed around every 30,000 miles give it take. I’m at 34,000 right now and was looking at doing the change myself rather then taking it to a dealer. The price of the Mopar BW 44-44 transfer case fluid is insane. Do you recommend sticking solely with Mopar fluid or can I use another fluid that is definitely much cheaper. Any thoughts would be much appreciated!!!

@Hemi395 has tried a few. Amsoil SS multi vehicle comes on a squeeze bag so no pump needed. Take off the top bolt first, dont over torque either bolt when tightening, those cases will crack.

Amsoil SS ATF (red container) is a fraction of the cost of the Mopar 44-44 fluid and works great. Plus like @Burla said its available in a easy pack which makes changing the fluid a breeze.

I agree, Amsoil SS ATF is what I used at 30k. Very easy with the squeeze bag.
