i was wondering if any of y’all know how to solve my issue. My 09 ram hemi that i just dropped a new engine into after blowing my last one isn’t getting power to ignition coils 2,4, and 8 i already put new spark plugs i changed out the coils for new ones and i added electrical grease still no power. I also checked the fuse and its fine. The truck runs and turns on just idles low and those three cylinders are misfiring. What could it be?

Very bizarre...I would check to make sure fuel injectors are properly seated...if that ain't it, I would check electrical system and voltage, and then timing, maybe? Like I said, this is very bizarre. Keep us posted.

On second thought, who built the motor? This sounds like timing...the fact that almost all even cylinders are all misfiring...

Have you pulled all the plugs and compared them. They may give you a clue if they look like those cylinders are running lean or rich.

Also, check all your grounds on the engine/heads
I made sure all grounds are fine I only pulled the spark plugs on those 3 ignition coils they looked like it’s running lean and I replaced them with new ones I don’t believe it’s timing due to it being cylinder 3,5 and 8 I think I mixed it up on the post

I'm having a similar issue with mine too. I have a 2014. I went to work on Monday no problem. When I went to leave I was getting misfires on one or two cylinders. It's at my mechanic now. He did the same as you and he seems to think it may be a bad PCM. My truck sat for quite some time so I can see that happening. I did some research and came up with this website for PCM's. www.fs1inc.com. They even program the new PCM with your vin before shipping it to you. Hope you find out what it is and please keep us posted. Good luck.

Best regards,

-Mike

Sounds like you need to get out a multimeter and a wiring diagram. Any codes being set? Could be a wiring issue, or the PCM itself. With an engine replacement it’s very possible the harness was damaged during the repair.

The coils receive power from the ASD relay and the PCM controls the ground side to fire the coil. If there’s no power on the ASD side then it’s either a wiring issue or a PCM, most likely a wiring issue since other coils are working.
