Hey All,

Just bought a 2019 Ram Big Horn, with 39k miles this afternoon. I took it to a shop prior to purchasing to look over the mechanicals of the truck and everything was fine. I test-drove it around for about 45 minutes without any issues or concerns. About two hours after I purchased the truck I received a warning "Blind spot alert unavailable, Service Required". Shortly after enabling the front blind spot control (it was off prior, and I never enabled it during my test drive) the center console screen reset, then goes blank, temperature controls turn off, front windows, and locks also did not work. Here is a sample of whats going on. I inspected the front sensor and it turns out one of them is very loose. Unsure if the problem with the front sensor is the root cause of this, but the electricals still malfunction when the front sensor isn't on.

At times everything works but not for long, this is obviously very alarming to me, I've only owned the truck for about 6 hours now. The dealer is sending people tomorrow to get the truck and take it to get checked out. I am curious, is this common? How worried should I be about this truck? Is this somewhat common and can be fixed? Or is this a bad omen and a dud truck and should I try to get out of this thing?
Appreciate any help and insights.

Well, we had our 2021 brand new Ram Big Horn diesel completely die on us three times within two months. Everything stopped working, and it had to be towed each time. The first time it happened, I was at a stop light and when I started to go that is when it completed died, nothing worked. Fortunately, I was at a light and not in traffic. A wire harness of some sort was replaced and now the truck has been sitting at the dealership for a month. They claim it is the RF hub and they are waiting for Chrysler to deliver the part. Although this is not the same issue you have but seems these trucks have electrical issues in general. Not only is this disappointing but scary in that when I get the truck back, I am not confident this won't happen again. It is an unsafe and unreliable truck!

I bought a used a 2019 Ram Big Horn with about 36K miles on it. I had it for about 5 months then the instrument cluster went blank. I called Ram and they said that my warranty expired about 8 days ago. They said I had to get it in for a diagnosis regardless if I want it fixed. They told me the earliest appointment is in 4 months!!!!! in the meantime, my rear assist sensors quit working AND I got an oil change and the mechanic said the oil pan is rusting out. That it should not look the way it does for a 3 year old vehicle. Ram (Mopar) is not owning up to any of the issues I'm having for a certified used vehicle that I've had for about 6 months now. And they said 4 months for an appointment is typical
Who knows if I have other error messages that I can't see due to the display not working.
I think its rather irresponsible of Mopar not doing anything asap being the way the truck has been starting to fail electronically
Note - my son bought a 2020 ram 1500. rust spots starting appearing within a year of purchase. they said thats typical of white trucks. that it needed to be detailed. They took the truck and it took almost 3 week to have the car washed and waxed. And they didn't even do a decent job. A lot of dirt spots all over the vehicle.
Think twice about buying a Dodge! Do your homework!

What do you mean rust spots? Industrial fallout? All cars have that, it is just easier to see on white vehicles. A regular wash and wax will not remove it. It needs chemical decontamination using something like Chemical Guys Iron remover and wheel cleaner or equivalent and/or a clay bar.

But why it took them 3 weeks to wash and wax is a mystery, I'd be livid especially if they did a ****** job as it appears they did. If you don't want to take it to a detailer (not the dealership) then you can buy the stuff and do it yourself.

I just bought a used 2019 Big Horn with 23,000 miles about a month ago. Didn't notice on the test drive but the radio volume on incoming texts and on navigation is way too loud and no matter how many times you lower it, it goes back to being loud. Then the other day I pulled into a gas station and as the front end got close to the pump it triggered the front parking sensor which started a loud tone that would not turn off. I pumped gas and started it back up and the tone came on again. Luckily I have earplugs in the truck and had to use them to get home. The next day, no tone, whew.

Took it to the dealer and luckily have an extended warranty. They tried to update the radio firmware but said the radio wouldn't accept the update or something like that and ordered a new radio. But they said it could take weeks till it gets here so not sure if that will solve all the issues or not.

I'm having the same issue and just purchased a 2019 RAM Limited on March 22, 2023. I drove the truck for a day and this started happening. I took it back to the dealership and they cleared the codes first and said they could not duplicate the issue. The issue returned so I took it back and they said they replaced the wiring harness in the tailgate that connects to the backup camera. I'm at the point of trying to back out to deal or have them put me in something else. I would rather have the issue fixed but I'm unsure where to start. Any assistance would be great.

Can't speak for every phone, but all my Pixels contribute to text notifications and incoming call volumes. You have to adjust in the settings app.

Damn Apple. I’ve tried every setting under the sun. At this point all that’s left is for a Uconnect software revision.
