I truly hate brake/turn combo lights. I'd like to move the turn signal to the reverse bulb location. I plan on using an amber/white combo led. I don't want to do any cutting on the factory harness so my idea is to make a harness that will plug into the existing bulb sockets that will switch all the wires around. The bulbs will be plugged into that harness and stuck into the light housing. Another bonus of doing this is I won't have to splice into the factory harness for the resistor. The female connectors (where the bulb plugs in) are easy to come by, but I have no clue what to do about the male part.

Anyone have any idea if someone makes a male light bulb type socket? Are these connectors a standard thing or are they Dodge specific?.. Talking about the component that locks into the light housing, not the bulb socket.

I seen an australia 4th gen Ram that had the amber tails in the reverse lights. Then it had a led bar for reverse. It's a requirement there.

I'm sure you could just wire it that way.

I remember now that was the solution for my Camaro. I never pursued it cause there was computer compatibility problems.

I just ran across the trailer wire section of RA. They have a plug and play wiring kit that would work. I didn’t think something this old would have a connector to tap into. That’d be an ideal solution.
