Have a 18’ Express. Looking to pull the trigger on some 2” Bora spacers. Boras are “the best” but will adding the 2” to each side actually destroy my joints? I need some tips. This is my first truck

2” spacers?? Why on earth would you want to do that? Put more stress on your front end and sling more crap on your paint?

1. It looks badass
2. I ain’t taking this thing mudding so the paint is fine
3. Asking for polls and tips. I don’t want to cut the ruts down so 2” is the way to go. Some people run way wider and agressive setups and are fine

Are you lifted? What wheel setup do you currently have. Wider set you may rub the tires in the wheel well and it will fling any rocks from the road up the side of the truck. Also yes. It does cause accelerated wear on the wheel hubs and ball joints but to what extent I’m not sure. Each case is different. Also how you drive and what your driving conditions are can change that as well.

Your point 3 is only partially correct. Yes people run wide set ups and are fine. The thing you don't see with the wide set up is they are replacing front end components much soon that they would have to include wheel bearings.

While some do think that it looks good to each their own. Not worth a look to spend more money in the long run just my opinion.

And lastly sounds like your set on it anyways so yes 2" spacer will keep you from having to cut the wheel studs. Some advice would be to check the spacer torque every little bit to make sure they are tight. And be prepared next time you need a rotate and balance if you get turned away as a lot of shops won't touch a vehicle with spacers due to the liability associated with them.

Save the $$$ and put it towards the correct way….. spindles, wheels etc set up………. You’ll end up there anyways. May as well do it right the first time :waytogo:

It won't "destroy" the balljoints.....sure, it will put more stress on them and increase the wear, but so would wider and more offset rims and bigger tires.

I agree. I run them on my 2500 and had them on my 1500. Just remember to check them and retorque when you do a tire rotation.

every bro these days has spacers with super wide offset wheels and low profile highway tires. make sure the tow mirrors are as far out as possible!

i miss the days of small wheels and big tires. hearing those super swampers coming from a mile down the road... ahh the good old days
