Hello all, just getting started with this very satisfying truck. My wife and I own a '17 Charger RT which is pretty heavily modified, and with all the overt attempts to hide the political activism at Ford and the problems with the Coyote 5.0 engine, we traded in our '20 XLT F150 for this beaut.

Equipped with the off-road group, 12" screen w/Nav and HK system, sport and all that. I have to say, it is nice to finally have no ignition keys and door handle touch unlock in all of our vehicles. Already got the windows tinted to max legal and am looking in to adding some subs to this surprisingly satisfying sound system, with straight pipes being the likely next step so this thing can sound like a truck.

My first impressions are that this is far more comfortable than the F150, but the F150 also sat higher stock, despite the description of the off-road package stating this sits higher than other Ram trucks stock. The comfort level is the big win though, as the roads here in Little Rock make you feel like you are offroading lol.

I have also noticed that online forums for Ram are far more friendly than Ford truck forums, and there is a regular group meeting here for things Mopar. Thank you for this information packed forum, and hope we all have great experiences with our trucks!

Welcome to the forum, it's a great looking Ram. Like you I was a die hard F-150 fanboy. That was until Ford lost it's way. I just picked up my first ever Ram 1500 on 07/15, and I have been quite impressed for the same reasons as you. The ride is like driving my recliner down the road. :)

BTW, great choice of color. :)

Thank you! That recliner statement is too true, this truck is SO confortable. What was your last Ford truck, and what were the main reasons for you making the same move?

My last was a '20 Ford Ranger. The reason I left Ford was that I placed a reservation for the new big Bronco. When I placed it I believed Ford in what they said the rules would be, but Ford decided they would change horses in mid stream ******** over half of their reservation holders. Me being one. It's a long story, but I'm done with Farley, and Ford.

Welcome to the Ram Forum, also another non ford owner, main reasons the 2018 10 speed nightmare, with several reflashing of the PCM to replacing the valve body to only make it worst never again!!!

I am sorry to hear that. I think Ford has jacked with too many of their owners. They really got me with the "Really *** Raptor". When I saw that, it was shortly after my Coyote was starting to have the engine noise from the related lawsuit, and at that point, I was done.

I was floored when the "fix" for the Coyote engine noise was revealed as a new dipstick that read lower oil levels and a cpu flash for probably some oil related engine check/balance. Instead of the top end rebuild that was what they had already discovered was the actual fix for the engine woes. Shameful.

I think I know exactly what you're talking about my friend. My wife drives a 2018 Mustang GT with the 10 spd tranny. That thing has never been right, and still sux today. I've went through the re-flash which heped a little, but it still doesn't change like it should. The 10 speed in my previous '20 Ranger was much better, but I'm sure Ford will never come back to those first 10 speeds to help the owners. If the wife didn't love the car so much, I would have already traded the thing. However, I have to say the car is more fun than a barrel of monkey's when you put it in sport mode. :)

The Ram ZF 8 speed is light years ahead of that disaster Ford calls a transmission.

If your mustang is not under any warranties still, have your looked into any of the Transmission tunes? I hear the aftermarket has some real nice maps that make the most of the 10 speed.

It's still under warranty my friend. But, thanks for the tip. It check that out when the warranty's gone. Anything to help it some.
