Summit Racing has the Fram XG2 available, I'm going to give them a chance.

I sure can't - but it seems I have a unicorn Heavy Duty variant made on a Friday with unique coolant hose routing:

Thats a Fram Ultra XG 10575 in there - just about touching the molded lower radiator hose. I've since switched to Royal Purple 20-500, same OEM diameter but longer than the Fram.
You must have a Summit store close by because I don’t know why anyone would wanna go online and buy a filter when they can just go to their local Walmart and pick it up for nine bucks. Or I don’t know, maybe that Fram filter’s not available at every Walmart… LOLSummit Racing has the Fram XG2 available, I'm going to give them a chance.
Googled it, I wanted to see if they had improved them since I last check on them backpack in 2010Curious, where did you see that the Mopar filters are rated at 35 microns?

2019 Ram 1500 Billet Silver Quad Cab 2WD, 5.7 Hemi, 8HP75, 3.21 axle, 33-gallon fuel tank, factory dual exhaust, 18” wheels. Build date: 3 June 2018. Now at 75848 miles
It may just be the picture but it almost looks like you could loosen the clamp on the coolant hose and angle it away from the filter? Maybe that's why your truck is "unique" and can't fit the larger filters?
I use the full synthetic. the filter I use for my ram truck is M1-113. I have used that Fram xg filter before and it worked fine. I dont have the tick sound and my oil pressure when out on the road stays around 52-53#Which mobile one product do you use being that there’s so many of them? Here in a couple weeks when I do my oil change I’m gonna use the mobile one extended performance because even though I don’t plan to run that many miles that they say that’s good for, I just figured that would be the one that would probably have the most additive in it because it’s “designed” to go extra long OCI’s.
I guess in a way I’m still kicking around the idea of that mobile one oil filter for our trucks but being that there’s just so much praise about that Fram XG filter, that’s probably the one I’m gonna go with. I would just really like to know how that filter compares to the XG2 and even though that is supposed to be a better filter, is it that much better that it makes the regular XG inferior to it or is the XG2 only just better to the point that the regular XG is still considered a good filter.
OK but which mobil 1 product? There’s the plain synthetic, the extended performance, there’s the high mileage, there’s the high mileage extended performance and then there’s the truck and SUV.I use the full synthetic. the filter I use for my ram truck is M1-113. The following URL claims this oil is just rebranded ESP formula. https://www.corvetteblogger.com/2022/03/24/mobil-1-rebrands-esp-formula-0w-40-as-mobil-1-supercar/Mobil / Exxon have been proliferating and changing formulas like mad, SOPUS (Pennzoil) too. It's difficult to keep up and assess.
Over on Synthetic Oil thread, members have been talking up Mobil 1 FS 0W-40, there may even be a Blackstone thread UOA to look at by this time. Now there's yet another new one, Mobil 1 Super Car. Have no idea what that's about.
Being that I’m no oil expert I have no idea if that could be contributing to it but just outta curiosity, why are you running 0W40?I'm using mobil 1 fs 0w-40 with an unknown amount of LG as well, not impressed with it. My engine makes a noise when idling cold that is worse with this now than it ever was with the 3 weights of Redline I used. It sounds pretty good when engine is warmed up but RL definitely sounded better all around.

I guess there could be some differences between your fifth GEN 5.7 and the 5.7 that was in my 2008 1500 but I ran pretty much the same thing you are except it was the 5W20 weight and my motor was was relatively quiet except for the huge possibility that I might’ve had the cold startup exhaust manifold tick on that truck. After it warmed up, it ran great and I ran that oil for the whole five years, 40,000 miles I had that truck. Had 29,000 miles on it when I bought it. That’s why I was glad to hear mobile 1 was once again an approved oil for Chrysler.
What were you testing for? Reason why I’m asking is because I’m just curious and from what I’ve read on here, 5W30 should be more than plenty for these engines. It was more of a test; I got it on sale and I couldn't find RL in store locally (it comes and goes) when I needed it.
I don't know why it makes that noise, just that it does and it was more quiet in the past when running RL.
That’s good to hear. Other than several lifter redesigns throughout the years, I always assumed there wasn’t much change between the 5.7 that was in my old 08 to the 5.7 in even the new body-style’s.Gen 4/5 ram doesn't matter, both of us are running gen 3 hemis (with eagle heads and updated lifters) so they are identical engines.

What weight redline were you using?

I’m not really sure what that factory semi synthetic crap that was in my engine brand new would’ve eventually made my motor sound like if I had left it in there long enough for a full interval because being that I couldn’t find any real information regarding whether or not the factory fill needs to stay in them brand new engines that long so I had the dealer drain that crap out before it hit 3000 miles on the odometer and had it refilled with whatever the step up to full synthetic was which is why I’m pretty certain factory fill is just semi synthetic because in order to get the full synthetic at the dealership, I had to pay about $25 for my “free” first oil change.I started my journey on oils because factory synthetic oil (whatever it is) was very noisy in my engine. So I used Redline in 5w-20, 5w-30, and 0w-30 weights at different points in time.
I get that you’re using mobil 1, I’m just curious why the 0W40.I'm running M1 this time because it was on sale and easier to get vs Redline. So I was testing if it would sound as good as Redline does, but it doesn't. I'm very curious what the UOA report will be as I have done multiple RL reports and want to see what the official results say instead of my ears.
