I'm all about mods and whatever but that is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. I actually never seen it here in CT, just pictures. We do have some older cars running on 30" wheels called donks though lol View attachment 500228
I did see a '68 cadillac with some large rims and low profile tires. The rims weren't as large as these, and it looked pretty cool, was dark blue metal flake with white interior, and a convertible, too. Probably the only car of that style that I actually liked.

The caddy that I saw wasn't up on 33's or 40's. The rims were larger than stock, but paired with the body mods on the car, they actually looked like they belonged there.

The person driving was doing the Detroit lean, with a little bass accompaniment, when he pulled up alongside of me at a light. A really good job that actually was unique, but paired well with the car.

A dark, dark blue with just enough metal flake to give it some glint. Really looked sharp in the sunlight.

I live near San Diego & the Military has 2 Air Bases here
Miramar Naval Air Station, is now a Marine Air Base, where most of Top Gun was filmed.
The other is North Island Naval Air Base

The Mexican Car Clubs, some of the members work at the Air Bases. They started installing Aircraft Hydraulics in the front of a few cars, nough said about that.

Now the Mexican Car Clubs do things like pick a vehicle a month & modify it.

LOL ...young guys always trying new things out. Not by cup of tea but I was young once too. My dad would shake his head at the trends of the day.

There are some regional trends too. There was a shop near our hotel [Honolulu] that was doing conversions like these (below). You know....there's still a certain amount of fab work and creativity you have to appreciate. But as long as they're safe. I mean adding a 6" lift, big tires etc compromises handling, breaking and bumper safety too ...if a guy wants to argue it, compared to a stock truck. I had a lifted truck with big tires that almost got me killed (due to poor handling). So I stick with stock now. But I appreciate the craftsmanship and fabrication that goes into lowered, raised annd other modified trucks, even though they may not be my cup of tea. When they're done well, that is.

You see these in hawaii a lot. Super-lifted trucks with small wheels (way offset). I've seen some tks that must have been lifted 48"! LOL:

Is absolutely ridiculous. Just look up on YT what whistlindiesel does to the squatted trucks as that should be how all squatted trucks are treated.

The best advice right at 24:28 of the video

Is a long video but is well worth the watch *****

Its true !!! Especially on Maui for some reason.

Tall truck, with what looks like 12” spacers all the way around. What really funny is seeing a big Hawaiian guy roll out of the truck….. booom. And yes…. Getting in is an event too.

Im all for the car / truck and custom culture. After all, I am in So. Calf. Cars are a religion here…. and I am a member.

Credit due where the skill set, and artistry blows the average mind. They are works of art on wheels…. and I love it.

One can argue that a turrd is a work of art…. But it’s still a turrd :waytogo:

I see alot of them in NW FL during spring break and other touristy seasons. They like to run in packs. My favorite is seeing a group in a gas station trying to maneuver around each other. Makes me think of a hippo fight. I'll have to snap a pic if I see a flock of them before this thread gets too old.

Ha! In California, certain people put 13 inch tires on their trucks and tow alignment out about 6 inches. Completely stupid the other way. I don't see how they get away with it. Can't be safe for anyone on the road.

Its been around for a bit. North Carolina just passed legislation outlawing it.
Yep I live in SE VA and work in NC. Y’all have had it for quite some time. Happy to hear it’s going away.
