I tow a Lance 2285 Trailer that weighs 5K. Have a WDH and installed air bags and
raised it two inches with bilstein shocks up front. Had a 2006 2500 that pulled the
RV just fine. The new 1500 gets a bit wobbly on the highway with a breeze and
with Semis passing. Any suggestions other than getting a 2500?

The WDH is an E2 with anti sway control.

Does your hitch have sway control of some kind? I haven’t towed with my Ram yet, but with my Tacoma, it was “wobbly” without the sway adjusted correctly.

Shouldn't have any issues towing that with a 1500. Take it to a CAT scale and weigh the truck by itself then the truck with trailer hooked up to get all important numbers. Then we can verify if you WDH is adjusted correctly and your weight is properly distributed.

What dhay13 said ^^ You’ll often feel a stiff wind and a semi a little bit but over-all shouldn’t have an issue towing that weight.

probably something in the setup. I pull a similar size and wt. travel trailer with my 1500 and it does fine. when you changed trucks you may have upset the balance of things. different tires, different suspension. I run a little more air in my tires (Falken Wildpeak AT3) when towing and I have changed out the sway bar to the Helwig. also after changing to my Ram from a GMC sierra 1500 I had to pack a couple more things in the trailer's front storage area to get a tongue wt. that worked the best.

We tow a 7200 lb trailer (loaded) with 2019 Hemi 3.92 gears and Equal-I-zer Hitch. Truck is totally stock except for Adjustable Shocks in the rear which are only there to reduce porpoising. No sway from Semis in either direction. Winds over 15 mph are felt.

Something is out of balance IMO. Agree with the suggestions above. Get it weighed.
Good Luck
