So the bug just keeps biting.
I currently have a simple speaker (dash/front and rear door) upgrade and sub/amp setup, but I can’t stand the factory crossover and EQ limitations, so I’d like to throw some more equipment at it.
Want: More juice going to door speakers (thinking of using components, mounting the tweeters in sail panel pods and simply disconnecting the dash 3.5”). Also want to have more control over EQ.
Thinking of:
PAC AmpPRO direct off head unit (retains everything) to an Audio Control D-4.800 (can also use a separate amp and JL TwK88 instead), and just keeping the sub wiring simple by running it from the AmpPRO to the existing amp.
Would likely go Infinity reference 6.5 up front and their 3-way 6x9 in the rear. I’m already running resistors with the upgraded 3.5, but I am still not happy with their sound (shared channel with the door drivers, right?).
I *think* that would give me what I’m after. I assume that I’d just level the EQ at the head unit (currently -2B, -5M, -5T)….
I’m certainly open to suggestions!
