Has anyone has problems with the dealer service and Maxcare lifetime warranty?

I brought my '16 Rebel, with 83k miles on it, in for the air suspension service message. After doing the dealer did their multi-point inspection, they are saying I need to get a whole extra list of services done or the Maxcare inspection will void my warranty. They claim my brake fluid is dirty (it's not), my transmission needs service (it doesn't), I need a "tune up", and that my 4x4 needs to be serviced, plus 4-5 other services.

I am a very good mechanic and take pride in my vehicle care, which includes ALL required services. I serviced the 4x4 system myself at 53k miles, but the service tech is arguing that no fluid is staining the plugs, and that the plugs show no evidence they have ever been touched......plus he says my transfer case plug welds haven't been cracked (what?...I took those plugs out myself). I'm totally baffled......I did the service myself, and have the fluid receipts.

I also record all my maintenance on mopar.com in My Garage......but they say the dealer and Maxcare only look at Carfax reports. What?!?

I feel like I am being blackmailed. The dealer said they will report all their findings to Maxcare.....and that Maxcare has been voiding customer warranties right and left this year. Huh?

So disappointed in Ram/FCA right now. I only bought this warranty to cover big items, like the air suspension. Everything else I do myself.
I have a 2018 Ram 1500 5.7 hemi and 4 WD with max care my front wheel bearing broke and did damage to brake caliper and rotor and they found front axles bad. I have 113000 miles on it and they are repairing everything. New front hubs axles and shafts coming out of transfer case. ALL I am paying is my deductible. It is about $3000. Dollars in parts and labor and I pay $500 dollar deductible. I am covered till 160000 miles or 2024. Miles will come first. I will always get max care. There adjusters should get all of it corrected.

The last dealership I dealt with was the same and ramcares basically said whatever they said was ok. Good luck.

I have a question for those familiar with dealership service departments:

Do the techs get paid hourly plus a comission?
I figure warranty stuff pays less than non-warranty work. How does it all work?

I agree with Huntergreen. The owners manual states the required maintenance at each mileage interval and those are the only things required to maintain your warranty. The only way a warranty repair can be denied is if you neglected to follow the guidelines in the manual or it is determined that the component failure is the result of abuse or normal wear and tear. For example, at 120,000 miles the manual states to change the transfer case fluid. If you don't and have a failure warranty will be denied. I mentioned that one specifically because you have a Rebel and I guess you may do alot of four wheeling....

Most are paid flat rate. Very few are paid an hourly wage.
Flushes and upsells are pushed by management.

I do very little "four wheeling", since this truck is what my wife and I travel in...I need it to get me home. That is what my former 98 TJ Wrangler was for (sold it two weeks ago after 12 years of ownership. It was in great condition). But I changed the TC and diffs at 53k miles (have 84k now).

I bought the Rebel because my wife saw one at the State Fair of Texas and said "that's cool...we should buy that". Can't argue with that :)

You got that right (happy wife). Plus, it's hard to argue when she approves a purchase :)

I see you are in central Texas.....we go down there all the time. Have a son that lives in Round Rock, and another one in Houston. We were camping down by Kerrville last month. We live north of Dallas.

And btw....thank you for your service!!!!

LOL. Thanks. Only time I go that far south, RR would be for a RR game. But since wife deceased (2016),(that was a thing we would do, cheap entertainment, cost more for fuel and gas then tickets), not been that far south. DO meet a friend in Pflugerville once in a while at Roadhouse for chow when he has custody of his son. That be the limit of my long trips (hence truck driveway princess), tho Momma neva knew this truck. Would run my Trike to go to Roadhouse but as U know IH 35 South of Georgetown is a real "Mother" (between traffic and speeds up/speeds down and stop on highway), not like being run off of road by PPL running 100 mph, lol.

I thought about it, but I suspect there might be a forum rule against that? Anyway, I'm giving them a few days to sort this out.
LOTS of places, dealer etc in the DFW area, which I know U know. I got a kid up there South of Dallas, but he has a small Chevy SUV. "Equinox".

Not sure on the Forum rules, PPL can always PM you if they need the info. U just gotta be smart ref posting "derogatory" stuff on dealerships, or any other places IMHO...

There is no rule on this forum about stating true facts about a company but, not doing it yet is a good move. Never post against a company on any platform till they have a chance to make things right. Once you take it public you have used up a major bullet and you harden the company against you since they don't have a lot left to lose. Asking for advice about how to approach negotiations is fine but as soon as you out them negotiations are pretty much done.

Nice bike...I had a bike back in the day (Yamaha Maxim 700)...and yeah, I35 will always be a mess. But it has gotten a little better. If I don't have to be in Austin/RR, I typically scoot a bit west and take the backroads route to south Texas (or the loop near Georgetown).

Yes, and that's exactly why I haven't said anything. I've been active on numerous car forums through the years (since I'm a DYI guy), but reframe from trashing any company/dealer/etc.

Truck is back at the dealer. Service Manager said he's having a discussion with his boss tonight regarding the situation. He said the suspension part will arrive around 6:30pm and they'll have the truck finished up by noon tomorrow. We'll see. And it's been assigned to a different tech.

I have Max Care and have had several repairs made with no problem from the dealer. Get ANOTHER dealer!
I had a prior Maxcare repair at this dealer 2 years ago with no problems.

Can't wait to see your pictures retaken after you get it back. All of the techs now know to rub an oily rag on any bolt or drain plug they can find.

Had an 86 Yamaha 650 Maxim. But that was built during the 55 mph BS, and was OK with one up, neva 2 up. But I liked the shaft drive.Momma Old Yamaha.jpg
