5.7L NON E-TORQUE 3.92 gears 4x4
Hey forum, I have been lingering around here for a short time while looking at rams. When I was at the dealer they claimed 2022 orders have ended & can only order 2023’s…they didn’t have a option for a non E torque hemi 5.7L and said they don’t know why they wouldn’t order a normal one. Fast forward to today I see the 2023 1500 line up on ram’s page, whammm E torque seems mandatory on the 3.6 V6 and now the 5.7L hemi. If anyone here knows the scoop or works at a dealer and can confirm I would appreciate it!

Lots of YT E torque videos on YT. Can't say which is best. There is another thread on the forum with a Ram sponsored E torque video. Simple search may locate it.

You could go up to a 2500 with the 6.4L Motor, which is not E Torque.
I would wanna buy a travel trailer as well then haha! I thought about that honestly. I just don’t wanna be the guy driving a 2500 to haul a ATV.

To add to this maybe I shall wait and see if they offer the non E torque on the 2023 classic if they continue that trim, only thing really keeping me away from the classic is not having the bucket seats, one stupid option. Unfortunately I am a picky ******* when it comes to vehicles and other things.

Your money, wallet, be as Picky as makes you happy. The only Caveat is, with the "Supply" shortages, U may be hard pressed. Nothing wrong with driving a 2500 with the longer bed and an ATV in the back, LOL. U fit right in. I personally have a full tonneau, so could not do that, but I have a 14' stock trailer which takes care of any "towing/load needs". I know, I could pull the tonneau temporarily and put in the ATV, but that is a 2 person job, and only me now (Momma gone)

As far as I know, even the 2023 classics (4th gens) will not have E-torque in pentastar or hemi flavor. E-torque has always been a 5th gen thing. Used to be mandatory on a pentastar powered 5th gen, but optional on the 5th gen hemi. Like you say, it may be standard equipment now.

I'm glad to see the 4th gen still being in production. 14yrs and counting! I'd buy a new 4th gen today if I was willing to pay the price.

Other than a 2500 rides like crap compared to a 1500, if he doesn't need the capacity why have to deal with the ride. A 1500 Crew Cab can be ordered withe the 6.4' bed which is the same size as the 2500 short box(6.4').

I am going to stop into the dealer Monday or Tuesday when they open and see if I can order a classic with the hemi and non e torque. That’s my next step.

Would anyone happen to know what the ‘center hub’ feature is in the stx package on the classic?

I think that might be the USB ports in the center console?

Almost $3K for that package? Yikes. I've always preferred the 17" wheels with 265/70/17's. They ride great and are better in the winter IMO.
I couldn’t tell if center hub meant it had bucket seats and the split area between the driver and passenger or if center hub is referring to the mounting style on the wheels being 20’s. I agree, I would rather have the 17’s, and I could take my brand new ko2’s off of the 4 runner and swap them to the ram! However they are a load range C so not sure if I would be better off with the E. Technically they don’t meet the ‘ratings’ for the 4 runner since they are a 112 and not a 113 speed rating or what the hell ever.

Speed rating: MAX revolutions', MPH for tire. Nah, not referring to mounting styles on tires (center hub). That be dashboard setup inside, whether full, or center console stuff. I have not been in a New truck with a full Bench seat in a long time, so no idea how they set them up now, with all the gizmo's put in for "creature" comfort stuff, LOL.

That might be the center console/infotainment system..........

Just a guess on my part :D

Thats what I was thinking but I think it’s referring to the wheels, selecting that package I do not see any change to the interior and the center counsel and such requires bucket seats which are only available on the warlock I think. So lug centric vs hub centric for the extra weight and size of the 20’s?. Wish I could get heated black seats but only comes in the premium cloth (gray). Learning a lot here playing around.

Picky on a vehicle that you have to look at and drive and (hopefully) enjoy using? I don't see why?!? (kidding ;p)

Given that it is listed among the other interior items, I (guessing, not sure) doubt it is for the wheels. Since it has 40/20/40 seats (like my Warlock), it is possibly a USB hub for powering phone chargers/etc. Because of the seats, it wouldn't have a center console between them, it is likely like mine, a port on the passenger side dash area (I also have what used to be called a cigarette lighter port on the equivalent location driver side, won't light cigarettes, but it does accept those round style plugs for GPS/etc.

Also, WARLOCK!
